Many Aegis customers appreciate the level of service they receive when they have questions about their coverage or need assistance while traveling. In contrast, other travelers have reported difficulties in obtaining status updates on filed claims.
Not having an online site to file claims is cumbersome and outdated. The process of calling an agent who then has to walk you through the process verbally, then submit things to an email address followed by waiting for several days before you even get a claim number is exasperating. This will be followed by a several week wait u til you find out if more information is needed or if the claim is approved/denied. I may use squaremouth again, but there is a very low likelihood that I will purchase a policy from Aegis.

To enhance our service, Aegis is upgrading our claims processing for Zurich plans to a different office with greater capabilities. In addition to the traditional claim methods of phone, email, & fax, we’ll now provide mobile phone intake, snapping pictures of any backup documentation, & instant payment by ACH following approval.

The day before the trip we realized that the start date for the insurance didn't include the first day of flights. The customer service young woman we talked to was so helpful. She changed the date and sent us a revised email, all at no additional cost. We were very amazed and pleased.
The problem that we are having is that Aegis hands off their claim to an underwriter. We filed this claim on June 9th, we resubmitted it on June 26th and still have not resolved this. Zurich, the underwriter, gets zero stars.

We can confirm once all the documents were received the case was reviewed and adjudicated on July 16, you received and cashed the check on July 23, 2024.

The insurance was very confusing. I didn't realize I purchased insurance only if our trip never started. I had to go home from our trip after a few days do to illness.
I will never buy insurance again. This was my first and last time doing so!!

Claim for delayed baggage required a lot of evidence and receipts that I was not able to obtain at the time the delay occurred.
