We had to cancer our trip because of an unexpected cancer diagnosis. I was very unhappy that I was refused any refund and useless insurance was kept in force, essentially stealing a significant amount of our money.
We’re sorry you had to cancel your trip due to an unexpected medical emergency. When filing a claim of reimbursement consideration proper supporting documentation, in addition to proof of loss claim forms are required, this includes notice from your treating physician.
Once these documents were submitted there was a delay in response from your treating physician. Upon making contact the information which was needed was well received and proper adjudication followed.

It was a little difficult to just to buy the medical where I had to get someone on the phone. Otherwise all was good.
I emailed Aegis on 6/3 for assistance with making a claim, and received the following message: "This is to confirm that your email was received, please allow ten business days for new claim notification documents to be processed."
I also attempted to call their customer service number, but the phone rang for over an hour before I had to hang up.
Today is 6/8 and I have yet to hear back from Aegis. I also have yet to submit any documents, and do not have any instruction on how to do so either.

Once we knew the reason for your delay and you were able to provide the supporting documents the claim was properly reviewed and adjudicated.

My son had a college final that was scheduled for the day we were leaving. I had to change his flight to adjust for this. The insurance didn’t cover the price change.

At the last minute I decided to extend my trip by five days. I called Aegis to inform them of this, and they immediately said that would be no problem and they would just change the dates of the policy. When I asked how much extra I would have to pay, they said there would be no extra charge at all. I give that service five stars, for sure!!!!
I had booked a cruise on American queen voyages and about three weeks before the the cruise the company went into a chapter 11 bankruptcy.
It will be a while before I get my deposit back, if ever.
