CANCELED BECAUSE OF COVID.
FILED CLAIM.
ONE MONTH LATER THEY ASKED FOR MORE FORMS TO BE SUBMITTED BY "E-MAIL"
BEING TECHNOLOGICALLY CHALLENGED, I SENT THEM BY "USPS".
NO RESPONSE SINCE THE LETTER AND FORMS WERE SENT.
MAYBE NEXT MONTH, UNLESS VALENTINE'S DAY DELAYS THE PROCESS.

THE RESPONSE TIME TO RECEIVE THE INSURANCE PAYMENT WAS OVER 7 WEEKS.
We really enjoyed that the policy was easy to compare with others and everything was clearly laid out. We did experience a missed connection while we were on our trip and it was a bit of a headache working with the representative when we tried to file the claim. There was a communication barrier and we couldn't quite understand the person we were speaking with. Eventually we found out that we could not submit the claim until we returned home from our trip - which was nearly 3 weeks later. We submitted a claim and it has been almost a week and we have not heard anything back.

We had a missed connection that resulted in a 10-hour delay at the airport until the next flight. We missed out on an entire day of our vacation. Since we had not actually booked any timed things or tickets, we did not receive any compensation. We do understand this, it's just a really big bummer. We did receive relatively prompt service which was appreciated. We likely will consider Aegis again.
We had a chance to speak with this client & cleared up some of her coverage confusion. Firstly, it’s not that she wasn’t allowed to submit a claim while on vacation. We simply recommend waiting until the trip is completed in case additional expenses are incurred.
Secondly, the insured had not yet submitted a claim at the time of her review. She had simply informed us after hours on January 6th that she was going to miss her connecting flight. We responded to her the following morning on January 7th noting the backup documentation her adjuster would need. However, we never got a response from her to that email.
Following our conversation with her after receiving this review, she realized that she didn’t have any eligible expenses to claim & decided to dismiss the process.
Took longer than stated. They would not cover cost of hotel in Buenos Aires on the return trip, not certain the reason, but am very happy they covered the remaining expenses. Feel as being nickel and dime to pieces....but that's the nature of insurance I suppose. This was a far more positive experience than a previous experience with a competitor.
Since I didn't have to file a claim, I'm afraid I don't have any comments that would really be of value. That said, I did reach out to Customer Service prior to going on my trip to ask about making adjustments to the policy as 2 of the travellers were not going to be able to go on the trip and I wondered if the policy could be amended and a partial refund issued. The agent explained that I was past the date to make changes, which I completely understood. The agent was knowledge and courteous. I would definitely consider purchasing travel insurance in the future with Aegis.
As always, competent, friendly and respectful interaction!
I called today and was on hold for more than 1 hour. This is discouraging. Have to try again tomorrow
Very smooth process. I appreciate all the useful information the agent gave me regarding the policy and process. Thank you!
Your company is my "go to" whenever I travel. I am never disappointed!
Just one minor comment - not a criticism: I wish you could offer discounts to repeat clients.
Thank you for the warm remarks! We greatly appreciate it & your continued business.
Regarding discounts to repeat clients, we echo your thoughts. Unfortunately, insurance regulations do not legally permit us to do this. Otherwise, we completely agree that it would be warranted & worth it.
Don't buy this travel insurance, it's a complete waste of money. Why do you buy travel insurance? So that if part of your trip goes wrong, you don't get hit with big bills because you had to make a last-minute plan B. This insurance company doesn't cover that. (I see the name of the insurance company as Aegis, Zurich Travel Assist, and when I called them the recording even had some other name... a bit shady I think?) The claims process was a total nightmare. I called multiple numbers and the system kept glitching and hanging up on me before I could even get to a live person. Their phone menu didn't even have the option "file a claim." When I finally got through to a real person, they said that because one portion of my trip was cancelled before my trip started, I would need to cancel the entire trip, file a claim, wait 10 business days, and hope (no promises) to be reimbursed for the entire trip. But what if I don't want to cancel my trip, I just want help covering last-minute replacement travel arrangements? No, they don't cover that, I finally found out, after hours of trying to get through their horrendous phone menu and talking to three different agents. If you haven't left on your trip yet, they will only let you cancel the entire trip, not help with a portion. I decided not to take my chances hoping they might reimburse me for cancelling my entire trip, so I went on my trip anyway, and tried filing a claim for the additional expenses incurred by the cancellation of the one portion. I have now been waiting for 12 business days, and have yet to hear any answer. For my next trip, I'll take my chances and not blow away 7% of the cost of the trip on totally useless "travel insurance." Consider yourself warned.
My Wife unfortuntly had to go to th ER the day of Embarkation. Because of the long time spent and the condition she was in we had to cancel our 10 day cruise what was going to be her 70th Birthday. Dec 4th. I arranged flights home from FT Lauderdale on Dec 3rd. She is being treated now by her Primary and GI and will go through a Procedure Late January.
Go-Ready was the first contact from the Hospital and they were assuring and helpful. The paper work to fill out from Zurich was pain staking but understand all information was needed. It asked the ER Doctor who treated her to fill out a few questions. Not an easy task for an ER Doctor 2 thousand miles away. I have faxed to the ER and asked them to either Mail or email back. this was on Dec 11 and 13th. On the 13th I called them and a nurse said they received it. Confusion from Zurich as I spoke to them a few times where one said that form would be needed and I had 90 days to get it. She was abasive. I called again on another day and was told by a different agent that the release papers with his name on it would be enough. I sent in all paper work less the questions for the Doctor and receipts to them on Dec 13th priority mail. I have also email both Go-Ready and Zurich on everything that has been done with no reply back.
Mailed documentation from the client was not received until 2 days ago. Our claims department spoke with the insured today to provide him an update. His case will be reviewed shortly & he should have a response before the end of this week.
