Several phone calls.1.They said claim was filed .It was not.2.2weeks later I insisted to file .Half an hour wait I was assigned a claim number.3.Forms sent I filled out detailed info emergency surgery 3 days ICU/Hospital stay doctor's letter all relevant documentation sent. All this happened 10 days before commencing the trip.Sept.23 when claim was filed .Nothing happened since then except my phone calls. The latest info was that it will take 3 to 6 months to process the claim
Following receipt of this review, our team touched base with Katalin. She was able to provide us with the necessary backup documentation that was still missing & the claim was settled & paid in less than 2 weeks.
Regarding a claim: Don't know if this is a claim or not. On Oct.10, 2023 going through security at the Oslo airport, they lost my 35mm digital camera. I filed a lost item with them but have heard nothing but a claim number back. The value is around $500.00 U.S.
We touched base with this client immediately upon receiving this review. They opted not to proceed with their claim. During the call, they realized they unfortunately did not opt for the Electronics Upgrade which covers cameras, iPhones, tablets, laptops, etc. that are typically excluded from all travel insurance policies but can be covered with this one (via the upgrade). They appreciated us talking them through that & we remain available should they change their mind & decide to proceed with the claim.
Simple, straightforward process. Great tool to compare rates and plans, I’ve used this portal several times with great success.
I was unable to go on my trip due to illness of my traveling companion. I called Aegis several times over the course of several weeks to find out how to file a claim. The customer service person only instructed me to simply email all my airfare receipts, my traveling companion's airfare receipts, my traveling companion's physician's notes, and any other pertinent information. I followed those instructions emailing all of the information. After 2 weeks of waiting and not receiving any confirmations by Aegis, I again called asking why I haven't heard from this company and why I haven't been allowed to file a claim. I got nowhere and so I told the representative that I was planning to contact the BBB about this insurance company. Within a half hour of ending the phone call, I received a phone call back from the representative saying I would be hearing from someone soon in regard to filing a claim. Soon, I received an email claim form, so again I had to resend all the previous information I had already sent. This time, I decided to make copies of the documents and send all of it via USPS. It has now been a week and a half since I mailed the documents and I still have not received any confirmation of receipt of my information. At present, I am intending to file a complaint with the BBB in regard to Aegis if I do not hear back from them soon. Honestly, no one who needs to file a claim should be treated this way. I will never use these companies again and want to warn other potential travelers to beware of them.
Our office has received calls from the insured 5 times over the few weeks since this claim was initiated checking on its status. There appeared to be an initial disconnect in expectations when the insured believed the claim process would be resolved in a matter of days & without a claim form needing to be completed & signed. To help expedite our claims process, we collect the common documentation our call center is certain the adjuster will ask for from the insured at the point the claim is being initiated & before they even receive their claim form.
As it stands today, the insured just returned the claim form to us on the same day she posted this review. The adjuster requested one additional piece of backup documentation from the insured which we’re currently pending receipt of. Following that, we expect her claim to be reviewed & settled shortly.
Paperwork was simple and was sent to Aegis on 19 Sept.
Have not heard back on my submission as of yet.

All contact with the insurance staff was respectful and understanding.
Our claim was due to a death in family and the feeling from them to help seemed caring and genuine.
Will again use the company in any further travel we may undertake.
Thanks.
Daniel
I sent a claim in a week ago and have not received any acknowledgement that it was received and/or is being processed

I was pleasantly surprised at the way my claim was handled after having heard horror stories from others. Aegis handled my claim promptly and professionally.
I was very pleased with the people that I spoke to on the phone when submitting and following up on my claim. They were knowledgeable and pleasant to work with.
I will definitely use their insurance for future trips
Apologies for the delayed response from our claims department. However, your claim was approved & processed for payment. Our claims department reached out to you today to make you aware. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance & thank you for your business.
Excellent customer service
It is an easy efficient way to choose travel insurance.
I was told that I couldn’t start an interruption claim until after I returned from my trip. This was inaccurate information
The insured spoke with our 24/7 Emergency Assistance Team while traveling with regards to initiating a claim. Their intention was for her to understand that there’s rush to initiate the claim. Therefore, we typically recommend for insureds to open the claim once they return since they may still be accruing insurable expenses while traveling & it’s usually much easier to handle from your home environment. We apologize if that wasn’t properly communicated where the insured felt like they weren’t permitted to start the claim until they returned home.
Following receipt of this review, we spoke with the insured. Their claim had already initiated & is moving forward as it should. She was thankful for the call.
Never send my policy as requested. They promised I’ll get it.
This insured requested printed copies of their insurance documentation which was mailed to them on 08/03/23. We weren’t made aware that they never received it until this review. We called the insured to see if they wanted us to send another copy. They said they did not as they just returned from their trip. They mentioned their son posting the review & said they would attempt to have him amend or remove it.
