When I spoke to customer service before I left, I explained that I would be traveling with electronics (laptop, iPad, phone) that would have been a perfect opportunity for them to say this insurance doesn’t cover electronics. While it is on the contract, it’s on page 8 in really fine print. I had stated verbally that I was concerned about my electronics being stolen. My phone was pickpocketed in Paris and it was unlocked because I was navigating how to get back to where I was staying. I had to find a place to buy a phone and sims card the next day (very difficult in Paris) and the police report took about 4 hours in all to file. The refurbished phone and sims was 400 euro. I had to get one because there’s was no WiFi in the place I was staying and I was traveling alone at this point and had to contact phone service and banks( my bank apps were on phone). I do wish that customer service would have let me know when I stated I needed coverage on stolen electronics that this plan would not cover it.
Thank you,
Robin
Upon receiving this complaint, we checked our system, our phone records, & our emails. We had no record of ever communicating with this client prior to them purchasing their policy. We contacted the insured to find out if they perhaps would’ve reached out to us from a different phone number or email address than the ones we had on file. However, they confirmed that would not have been the case.
They were uncertain who they spoke with or where they called. They said that they would try to investigate that when they had a chance. However, we followed up again after not hearing back from them & were unable to reach the insured.
We can say that electronics like phones, laptops, & iPads are a common exclusion on nearly every travel insurance policy on the market. However, some of our plans now include an Electronics & Professional Equipment Upgrade option to cover these exact type of items. We hope the insured will select that before their next trip.
Good coverage , prompt & comforting response from customer service when there was an emergency situation.
Good price for the coverage
Coverage was what I was looking for at the time. I did have reason to call the day of departure because I knew our flight was going to be delayed, my concern was we would miss our connection and need hotel accommodations. when I called the ask what the procedure would be I was told I would need written cause by the airline as to why the flight was delayed in order to consider any claim! I knew this wasn't going to happen no matter what - so to me this part of the insurance is invalid to start with!
The insured called us asking questions about hypothetical situations that might happen to her. Since she had not yet incurred an insurable event or any expenses, we were simply making her aware that it’s good to get the reason from the airline if she experiences a flight delay. Depending on what expenses result from that delay, on some occasions the expense is only reimbursable for certain reasons like weather, mechanical issues, strikes, etc.
We contacted the insured once more after receiving this review. She confirmed that she did not incur any disruptions or unexpected expenses on her trip. She also better understands now the point we were trying to make to her.
I am so grateful to GoReady for covering the costs of my trip that I would have otherwise lost when our airline canceled our flight. My only negative comment is that the website's size restrictions on the documents that I was required to upload in support of my claim were so small that I could only upload three pages at a time. It took me several tries to figure this out; once I did, it was fine. I would definitely use GoReady again -- thank you!
It’s been 4 days. I’d sent I. Documentation for baggage damage and asked to initiate the claim for the same. The agent seems to have overlooked the official report and didn’t open claim. I’m still waiting despite sending two further emails on that with the official report snapshot.
The insured asked to initiate 3 separate claims for their trip. One of those claims was due to damage that the airline caused to a piece of their luggage. They correctly initiated a report of that with the airline & provided us proof showing that. However, they did not provide us the outcome of that open claim with the airline. That’s what we have requested from them. We have checked their documentation a second time & the outcome of that open case with the airline has not been provided to us by the insured.
I’m in the middle of trying to get my claim settled. But I have to say you guys make it so difficult! My wife had /has a serious lung issue, which is why we canceled our trip. The day my wife called she was put on hold for a long, long time. Finally, she was told what she needed to submit to you. Got the doctors note and also submitted emails from Royal Caribbean stating that our trip was canceled . Communicated via email with all this. She gets an email stating my doctors note is unacceptable because it didn’t state a diagnosis. Really!! Isn’t that a HIPPA violation? But , I’m working on it. Now I’m waiting for a response for the info I forwarded from Royal Caribbean. Which I’m sure there will be issue! Let’s just say we are not happy with our experience with your service.
I have used SquareMouth Travel Insurance in the past. Very easy to find the right coverage.
I also filed a claim for a previous trip and the process was painless. I was also reimbursed very quickly!
I was unable to travel because of a medical problem but my wife did go on the trip. I filed a claim early this week (actually I started the process 3 weeks ago, it is a multi-step process), and it's currently in the hands of Affinity.
It was a relief during the drawn-out claims process knowing that Squaremouth would guide me through a complaint process should it be needed.
Thankfully, that wasn’t necessary as this claim was paid out without delay after documentation was received from the insured.
Before my trip, GoReady provided me with handy information sheets to use to prove that I was insured and to let me know how to proceed in the event I needed help. I left for my trip, secure that I had the information and coverage that I needed. Thank you, GoReady!
When on testing positive for Covid during my trip, I sent an email to GoReady Insurance, I received a prompt response that let me know that an official test result would be needed. I was reassured by the prompt and helpful reply. I will update my comments after I file documentation of my claim. Thank you, GoReady!
