My trip was canceled, when I reached out to see what if any options I had I was provided informaiton from the phone rep. When I submitted the requested information via email, the email responses accused me of lying, and they were rude in the interactions. I will never uitilze Aegis for trip needs again. The Squaremouth process was great however the providers via the site were not.

The 24 hour line was unable to help with anything but medical emergencies; as a result I was unable to get my questions during the relevant time period. This was a bit disappointing as I had purchased a similar policy from Trawick International via Squaremouth in 2022 whose 24 hour line was able to assist and confirm some details pertaining to my policy coverage at a critical time during that trip.

We purchased insurance for an international trip that was booked 5 months ahead. The purchase experience was good, although a bit cumbersome, by requiring 3 policies for the trip due to their rules for our party or 7.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. We’re happy to hear that your purchase went smoothly, though we completely understand that having multiple policies may have felt a bit inconvenient.

Just to clarify, our plans can cover up to 10 travelers under a single policy. The only exception is when members of the group live in different states, since each state has its own insurance guidelines. In those cases, separate policies are needed to make sure everything is properly covered, and any future claims can be handled without complication.

We truly value your feedback and are grateful you chose us to protect your trip. We hope you had a wonderful trip and look forward to assisting you again in the future.

This was such a bad expereince. We were schduled to travel from Thailand to Cambodia during a time where the two countries were bombing each other. A situation like this is the exact reason we purchased the insurance. We were scared to travel to Cambodia and were seeing travel alerts issued that it was unsafe to travel. In fact Thailand and Cambodia closed all land crossings. When we were finally able to get a hold of someone from Aegis she really had no idea what we were talking about. She said that she would talk to her ground team and get back to me within 15 minutes. I appreciated that she said that because we were looking to redirect our trip. Not only did she not call me back in 15 minutes.... she did not call me back at all. Our initial call was midnight in Thailand and I waited up 2 hours for the phone call before I fell asleep on the sofa. When I woke up the next morning I called back and she said, "Oh, hi I just heard back from our ground team and I was going to call you." What? Why wasn't I called the night before like she said? She said that she had not heard back from the ground team. I had never felt so unsupported and literally felt like I threw $1300 out the window. There was no help, no support, no plan. Eventually she told me that if we felt usafe we should just change our plans. When I asked if our travel plans would quaulify for reimbursement she said, I don't know. Just make the changes and then submit the claim and see if they cover it. I really would like my money back. Something that was supposed to make me feel safe while travelling actually made me feel more insecure and caused me to loose a lot of sleep waiting for a call that never came. It was AWFUL.

Our trip was cancelled. We rebooked another trip for next year. Aegis extended the insurance policy dates to cover the next trip at no additional cost.

Though I had a very small claim, I had to jump through hoops. There was an issue regarding the charges for bus tickets for which the receipt was in US dollars and they believed because the bus was in Canada, that the receipt was in Canadian dollars. I alerted them to that fact and sent them a copy from my credit card which showed the cost in US dollars, but I did not get a response from them. The amount is a little more than $5, and I will not pursue it anymore.

They were generally helpful and understanding. The claim was for a very minor amount. But we got stuck on whether the claim was in US dollars or Canadian. Despite showing them my receipt from my US credit card, I was refunded as if the charge had been in Canadian dollars.
