I am filing a claim for a trip that was delayed from 23'20" to 46 hours, and luggage that was delayed 10 days. No resolution made so far.

We appreciate your family being 5-time past clients & are sorry they experienced some travel mishaps on their latest trip. With this claim having just been initiated 1 business ago, it will likely take another 1-2 weeks to be processed. We’ll be here should you have any questions or would like a status update. Thanks again for being a loyal customer.

    Aegis policy: Go Ready Choice

When I first contacted Aegis, the claim went to GoReady. From GoReady it went to Zurich.
I had to cancel the entire trip prior to departure and started the claim on 12/28/2024.
I've submitted all the forms (10 pages and some more than once) and was given a claim number with Zurich.
I've called several times starting in February. I was given different dates for finalizing the claim.
The second to last one was on 4/12/2025 when they told me it would be "expedited" no later than 4/16/2025.
That day came and went with no response. I then called again on 4/21/2025 and was told that all papers were received and nothing was missing and that it would be finalized on 4/25/2025 (today).
In the meantime I sent 3 emails recently to see if I can get any followup information.
No response at all to any of my last 3 emails, including one early this morning. I gave them until noon today because of the time differences.

I will now file a complaint with the Calif. Dept. of Insurance. I understand that they are in a serious breach with this claim.

If I could give it a zero star, I would.
I will advise anyone looking for travel insurance, to avoid Aegis/Zurich. Run away....don't walk!!
When I purchased the policy I was within the time frame where pre-existing conditions were included in the coverage. It stated so on the bottom of the page, so I didn't feel the need to pay the extra premium.
They are now saying I should have purchased the addition. Of course, they will say this. More $$$ in their pocket and I'm sure they would have found a way to deny a high pay-out then too.
They took 4 months with no responses whatsoever to email or phone calls to come up with the denial for payment. Total 100% ghosting.
It wasn't until I contacted Squaremouth for assistance, that they finally responded, but even then it took quite a few more weeks.
I will try other ways to see what my options are.
But I will never, ever purchase from Aegis again and will advise other to think long and hard too.
Their premiums will be slightly lower than other companies, but it may be worth spending a bit more.
I lost tons of money on this. Don't believe when it says that pre-existing conditions are covered. It's a big lie.. Why would they not let a client know immediately, if that was the only reason. Why not respond for 4+ months after submitting more than 10 pages and some more than once.
Extremely frustrated, furious and definitely determined to let the buying public know of this very shady company.

I filed a claim based upon instructions from your Joanna. Received an email from Zurich saying it would be processed in 15 to 20 business days. Hearing nothing I called 833-515-3322 and spoke to Elizabeth. She said no claim had been filed, and that I would have to file directly with Zurich. She had no explanation for the email I received, simply saying I had filed it wrong.
Are you guys simply a scam???

I am extremely dissatisfied with the claims handling from Aegis. Each step seems to be a stalling tactic. My claim could have been much larger than it is, but I did a lot of work to minimize the amount claimed. Unfortunately that seems to have no impact on the claims processing. It is apparent the goal is not to pay claims, which is not a good faith process.

My husband was hospitalized before we set off on our cruise, and all our travel details were cancelled. I filed a claim, including the mountain of paperwork and documentation required. Two months later and five phone calls placed to the insurance company, I was informed further documentation was needed to analyse our claim (after me asking five times if the claim documentation was complete), I provided the additional information the very same day, it's now 10 days later and still no word back from the insurance company. At the time of filing the claim, I was told it would take up to 15 business days to settle ... I am still waiting more than two months later. Very poor customer service and non existent communication from the insurance provider.

We’re very sorry you had to cancel your trip due to your husband’s hospitalization, and apologize that we failed to meet your expectations with the claim process. The adjusters sent an email with needed items the third week of March. You were able to provide documentation within several days, however the there was still an item pending. It’s been explained what is needed and once this document is received, we have requested an expeditious review and adjudication.

Please feel free to contact our office should you have any questions or concerns. Wishing the pair of you good health.

I entered email incorrectly, but guess it was automatically corrected. I had to call to get the documents resent.
