Everything was easy! From signing up to filing my claim. The process was straight forward. As long as you follow the directions you should have no problem. After filing my claim I received my compensation within a few days. I was so disappointed that I couldn’t take my trip due to an injury, but so thankful that I bought travel insurance! I usually buy it when I travel out of the country. I will be using Generali every time! Thank you!

The representative at Generali did not know anything about their insurance policy. I had no answer to many questions. I would not buy from them again, although squaremouth was excellent source and easy to use.

While the claim was ultimately paid, the claims specialist asked for information that had already been submitted and also waited to ask questions that should have been asked for up front. This led to the claim taking longer than it should have.

No help from “Bot” which is supposed to answer questions by texting on their web site.
No info on their site that tells you how or if you can save claim and come back and edit or add info.

We are highly unsatisfied with Generali Global Assistance. I had come down with Covid during our trip to France in July, incurred additional expenses, submitted our paperwork and medical documentation in full as required by Generali and kept receiving a request for additional information. This was for documentation we already sent. Then we received notification that our claim was closed.
We have called Generali's 800 number several times, emailed their claims office several times and do not receive a response.
We are very upset and dissatisfied with our purchase of travel insurance through Squaremouth's listing. We would greatly appreciate your assistance.

The claims process took a little longer than I would have liked (almost 2 months for my claim to be paid) but I understand this may be due to the present travel situation and a higher than average number of claims being filed. I would recommend using the online filing if you can - I filed by email and as a result I couldn't check my claim status online. It was somewhat difficult to reach an agent by phone and much of my contact with my claims agent was through exchanging voicemails or email. I was very pleased with how my claim was resolved and I will definitely consider Generali again the next time I need travel insurance.

You could not add to an existing policy, you had to cancel and get another policy.
