    The amount of time that I spent on hold was way too long. If I had had an emergency, I am not sure what I would have done.

    Being able to purchase this insurance a few weeks before my trip alleviated much anxiety about traveling overseas
    With all the issues related to Covid, and any other illness or accident.
    We felt it was a reasonable price and easy to secure.

    When we had to cancel just before departure due to a positive Covid test, I called to notify a representative of the Generali Global Assistance insurance company who emailed me a packet of information to make a claim as promised. We will be filing a claim.

    They do not cover COVID related issues, contrary to my understanding of their advertisement otherwise. Customer service was poor when I tried to discuss the situation with a representative. They refused to discuss anything until a claims person was assigned, which took weeks. Getting trip insurance from this company was complete waste of money. I will not use them again in the future. I whole heatedly, with great enthusiasm will advise friends and family to not use this company.

    I thought I was protecting my trip from a COVID related loss. We we planned to visit to my 93 year old Father-in-law. After we made our plans and paid $2400 deposit for and AirBnB, he and the home where he lives both asked us not to come until the case rate declined. So we canceled
    Our trip and we’re reimbursed everything except the AirBnB deposit. I filed a claim for reimbursement and it was denied.

As stated in our policy documents, our plans only reimburse for non-refundable, pre-paid trip costs if you need to cancel your trip for a covered reason. Unfortunately, Generali Global Assistance plans do not offer coverage if you cancel your trip due to fear of traveling due to Coronavirus. It is important that you review your Description of Coverage, which are available before and after your purchase.
