Many Generali customers appreciate the fast and easy online claims process, with many highlighting how quickly they receive reimbursement. However, some customers find the claims portal and the provider’s automated phone system difficult to navigate.
When trying to get information for filing a claim was given the run around. One person told me to file the claim for each person affected by the incident yet GGA voided the 2nd claim that had all the medical documents and supporting information for both people. When I called for clarification on the matter I was told I could only file one claim for the trip cancellation insurance even though I had an additional 6 people traveling on the same trip. If another had a sudden medical emergency they would not be allowed to use the insurance. This is not what I was told when I purchased the policy from Squaremouth customer service. After filing the claim all I received as far as communication was a letter via the login GGA system NOT via Email that the claim was denied and cut and paste of the policy parts as the reason. No follow up or asking for additional information.
I would recommend people not waste their money on trip cancellation insurance at least as a group. I would hope if we had had a medical emergency it would have been covered but as we did not need it I am grateful.

The plan is unfortunately unable to provide coverage due to a pre-existing condition.
I needed to file a claims my wife became very ill and was unable to travel. The claim forms from Generali were fairly easy to fill out on line. After about a three week period after filing the claim, it was paid to the full contracted amount. I was very happy with the entire claim process and would definitely purchase a travel policy with Generali in the future (I already have an additional policy).
I was sick on the morning we were to leave Paris for home so I tried to contact them through their 24 hour call number. I was never able to reach a live person and just kept getting re-routed back to the original message. I ended up leaving Paris that day in spite of being sick and made it home ok. Even though I didn't file a claim, I was quite disappointed that I wasn't able to reach anyone on their 24 hour emergency line. I'm very grateful that I didn't have a real emergency. There was lots of help during the purchasing process but no access to their emergency line when I needed it. I probably would not purchase trip insurance from Generali again.

We had to cancel our trip but didn’t have cancel for any reason and couldn’t use or get refund
I filed the claims via email moments ago. Their website submission process had too many glitches for me to go that route. Our claim is a small one. The insurer's representatives with whom I spoke were very pleasant and helpful. This is our first claim after using Squaremouth many, many times over the years.

The process wasn't quite "Easy as ABC," but as close it as it's possible to be. Their customer service representatives were friendly and helpful, and our loss claims were handled quickly. We're entirely satisfied. (We also learned to hold onto tickets, boarding passes, etc., until you know for certain you won't be filing a claim. Having them available made things a lot easier.) We'd certainly use them again.
I thought the whole process of purchasing my insurance was very smooth, reasonable and professional. All the staff I interacted with were professional and friendly.
I would use Squaremouth again in the future.
-On August 9, I received an email from Generali informing me that they had received our claim on August 9 and stated that a Claims Agent would review our claim and would be contacting me.
-On August 18, I received an email from the Claims Agent stating that our claim was covered and would be paid.
-Today, August 19, I received an email from the Claims Agent stating that they would be processing our payments and the amount that would be paid (this was the amount we had requested) and to allow 7-10 days for processing.
I am more than happy with Generali's Claims Process. They were quick, efficient and easy to follow.
I had no issues and would purchase this trip coverage again.
I believe it could have been better. The trip turned out very poorly.
