Many Generali customers appreciate the fast and easy online claims process, with many highlighting how quickly they receive reimbursement. However, some customers find the claims portal and the provider’s automated phone system difficult to navigate.
I am confused as to why you would ask me how my trip was when I have not taken it yet????????
We apologize for any confusion we may have caused. Unfortunately, we were unable to locate your policy based on the information provided. Once you understand the terminology it is quite easy to order. Very helpful associate and great value for money. Fortunately, I did not have a claim so I can not evaluated that service. Very happy with purchase.
They mostly just sent me the claim forms. Don’t know yet if they will cover my expenses for cutting the trip short due to a medical. Emergency.

I had to collect a lot of paperwork to support my claim but CSA approved what I expected. At first
I was surprised they didn’t cover the last leg of my flight home but it makes sense and is written in the policy .
Unfortunately, the trip was canceled due to a medical issue discovered a month prior to departure, requiring major surgery during the planned travel period. All requested documentation has been submitted to Generali; email and phone communications with insurer's representative have been exchanged to expedite the process. The claim is still ongoing and we continue to await completion and reimbursement.

The communication with Generali Global Assistance Claims Department, both with doctors and me, was difficult and slow. After several weeks of non-response from the Claims Dept, I spoke to the rep to learn Generali wanted prior medical history. Weeks went by, and it was only when I contacted the rep again, that I learned that my claim was not being processed because Generali found the physician's fax too dark to read (after several attempts). I immediately went to the doctor's office, obtained a hard copy, which I scanned and uploaded to the claim file. The claims process dragged on due to lack of communication. It was a straightforward case of an unexpected medical diagnosis requiring immediate surgery, but repeated inquiries and proactive intervention was required to finally get the claim approved and paid.
I tried to file a claim. I will not be using Global Assistance ever in the future. After loosing my purse with euros, glasses, and cell phone and trying repeatedly to work with the lost and found in Athens airport I finally resorted to having to make a claim under my insurance coverage. To make a very long telephone call short, it turns out in the fine print that they do not cover anything that would most likely be lost in traveling. They do not cover purses, telephones, glasses, wallets - almost everything. Please review the lost baggage fine print in the middle of the information. For a bit of transparency which is not mentioned ( but which I finally got out of the agent) was what is covered - toys, artwork , glassware and shoes/clothing (with receipts). I asked for 10 things that were covered but he could not give me more. Before recommending them, I would suggest that if lost baggage is a concern to your customers, that they be made aware of lack of reasonable coverage in this area. A thorough review of all of their protection offers might be a good idea.
Because of the rather deceptive nature of the lost baggage stipulations my daughter requested that they refund the $148.98 which I paid for the policy.
As of now there has been no response to her request.
I regret having to report such a negative experience but thought you should be made aware of it.
Sincerely,
Judith Campbell

Brief case was stolen on June 1, 2019 in the Gare de Lyon Train Station in Paris, France. Contents of the brief case included: Dell 13" computer, iPhone XR, wallet, credit cards, cash, Bible, book, CD/DVD player, reading and sun glasses, office supplies, electronic cords, and other items. Police report was filed.
Initially I thought they were a little slow, but I suggested a phone call could handle the rest of the questions. Jade agreed. She called and I expect the check to be waiting for me when I return to Austin!
wonderful help as when we booked, the dates showed up as 6-16 leaving and returning- the gal who answered was a wonderful associate who straightened everything out with NO hassle-
