Many Generali customers appreciate the fast and easy online claims process, with many highlighting how quickly they receive reimbursement. However, some customers find the claims portal and the provider’s automated phone system difficult to navigate.

    I tried to file a claim. I will not be using Global Assistance ever in the future. After loosing my purse with euros, glasses, and cell phone and trying repeatedly to work with the lost and found in Athens airport I finally resorted to having to make a claim under my insurance coverage. To make a very long telephone call short, it turns out in the fine print that they do not cover anything that would most likely be lost in traveling. They do not cover purses, telephones, glasses, wallets - almost everything. Please review the lost baggage fine print in the middle of the information. For a bit of transparency which is not mentioned ( but which I finally got out of the agent) was what is covered - toys, artwork , glassware and shoes/clothing (with receipts). I asked for 10 things that were covered but he could not give me more. Before recommending them, I would suggest that if lost baggage is a concern to your customers, that they be made aware of lack of reasonable coverage in this area. A thorough review of all of their protection offers might be a good idea.
    Because of the rather deceptive nature of the lost baggage stipulations my daughter requested that they refund the $148.98 which I paid for the policy.
    As of now there has been no response to her request.
    I regret having to report such a negative experience but thought you should be made aware of it.

    Brief case was stolen on June 1, 2019 in the Gare de Lyon Train Station in Paris, France. Contents of the brief case included: Dell 13" computer, iPhone XR, wallet, credit cards, cash, Bible, book, CD/DVD player, reading and sun glasses, office supplies, electronic cords, and other items. Police report was filed.

    Initially I thought they were a little slow, but I suggested a phone call could handle the rest of the questions. Jade agreed. She called and I expect the check to be waiting for me when I return to Austin!

    Trip cancelled due to engine failure on ship. Airline wanted $1560.00 penilties for cancelling flight. Globel paid the amount. Very fast processing claim.

    Our experience with Generali was excellent, as we had to file a pre-trip cancellation claim due to my wife's medical emergency before we departed. The claim was processed quickly. The only problem I would point out to you is that your website did not function properly over a 2-4-day period as I was attempting to file the claim using your website as instructed. At each step of the process, the site showed "A Problem Has Occurred" sign. This would go away after 6-8 seconds (I learned), and one could in fact then proceed. But in the event, after the claim was finished on-line and I had successfully uploaded all the documents requested, and the site told me that my claim was submitted, our case agent said that one or two documents did NOT successfully upload. We then had to resubmit those documents directly to her via email. If you direct customers to use your website for claims filing, you should be certain that it is fully functional.

    They would not accept my doctors statement of when my injury occurred and that I could not get an appointment to see him until after the policy ended. They should have accepted his statement that I was injured. I'm out $5500.

    I called your company to ask about the insurance (trip disruption), as I had to cut my trip short by 12 days due to chest pain.
    Was advised that I should have gone to a hospital in Ireland. I felt I needed to return to the USA instead of possibly being treated and hospitalized in Ireland.
    Live and learn. Next time,(if there is a next time), I will seek local medical care first .
