When I phoned Generali Global Assistance it was answered by AI. It asked for my Policy Number. When I entered my number it said it could not find it. I entered it several times but it could not find it. It was the correct number.
As it could not find the policy it was not help whatsoever! NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR WHEN YOU ARE IN THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT AT THE HOSPITAL!

Filing a claim was a miserable experience. It's understandable that documentation is required, and I prepared to provide the necessary receipts. Every time after uploading a file, the software kicked me out and I had to reenter and receive verification codes etc. This must have happened at least ten times. I got a failure message that basic files were too large, when, in fact, they were under the limit and in an acceptable format. I spent hours on what should have been a simple process.
When starting the claim I found the text ambiguous whether I should be submitting trip interruption or trip delay, so I phoned customer service. After unacceptable waits, I chose the option for the company to call me back. It did this multiple times, but the phone never rang, and the calls immediately went to voicemail. (I verified that my phone settings were entirely in order.)
Let's see what other surprises await me with the claim settlement.
We make two international trips per year and purchase travel insurance each time. After this negative experience, it's doubtful that we will use Generalli.

Filed a claim for reimbursement for a hotel in Paris after my flight home was cancelled. Filed on a Tuesday and Generali paid me on Friday! Very impressed with how easy it was to file my claim on-line, downloading my receipts.

I have been on multiple trips with Generali Global Assistance. I have been very pleased with my policy and the assistance provided. Unfortunately on this trip some items were damaged and broken. I hope to settle this claim soon.

Regarding pre/departure rating: I need to do light alteration to the policy. That has been done with 2 errors- first I was double- charged and then the term ( last day) was incorrect . Both errors have been corrected prompt, but Regan additional calls

We needed to cancel out trip because of new health issues. It was easy to file the claim and upload the required documents on Generali's web site. The claim was processed quickly and we received our refunded travel expenses within days. My only recommendation would be that their claim web site should have more a extensive faq section.
