After multiple problems and accidents during my trip, after the contact with insurance I've got a polite answer that nothing will be covered, not canceled flight, not injury, not fraudulent ticket.

My booking of flight with Tap air Portugal ,(that I paid for 6 month prior to trip $570), had. a problem. They did not complete my booking and did not put me on a passengers list.
I COULD NOT check in for a flight and had to rebook tickets on the same flight for $1700..
I was asking for help with this case. My claim was denied.
Insurance answer was that ,they do not cover that cituation

The price for the Generali travel policy was within our budget. The experience with the claim process was absolutely ridiculous. They asked for more information than should be necessary, and then did not go through it carefully to see what information they had, and asked us for the information many times over. We kept a very detailed spreadsheet of our expenses and finally, after 2 months, we have recovered all but $250. We had booked much of this trip on our own, so had many separate invoices, etc.
Our first ever experience filing a claim for travel insurance and we will NEVER go with Generali again. They seem to hire inexperienced claims personnel who do not know how to process claims and have good customer service. There was NEVER a phone # to call, and after 6 weeks, we finally received a call from the agent, but he did not leave an extension so we had no way to reach him directly. Once I finally found a way to get a phone message to him, and we talked over the phone, we resolved many of his questions, and he did a better job. Our last issue with him was that he created two separate claims for one lodging, and kept asking us for information for two bookings. He had the information totally messed up! Never Ever......

Generali continues to set up roadblocks to avoid payment including some that violate federal law HIPPA) such as seeking medical records even for an individual who had no health issues and not cause of cancelling the trip.

My trip was cut short due to Covid. Access to Generali during the trip was seamless and helpful. I did get the positive Covid test documented.
Fling the claim was simple and straightforward. I filed on Monday. I had to clarify one thing. The settlement was in my bank account by Friday.

Generali covered our claim. The only negative was trying to select the way we wanted payment. I thought I had selected deposit electronically into our bank account, but I kept getting new emails telling me how many hours I had left to make a selection before they just sent a check to our residence on file. That's what they did, and it arrived within a few days after the deadline for selection of payment. However, had I had medical or other claims requiring an immediate transfer of funds, I would have been quite frustrated. Other than that issue, I would have given Generali 5 stars.

Generali staff was very responsive to our needs. Between emails and phone calls, their service team set up all of our return trip arrangements from start to finish. They made sure all the details were organized down to the inter terminal transfers. We were expedited through customs and transfers. They made a difficult situation for us as comfortable as possible.
