See how Generali Global Assistance compares to other providers on Squaremouth in customer satisfaction and service quality:
*The overall customer rating is the average of all reviews for the provider since they joined the marketplace.
Many Generali customers appreciate the fast and easy online claims process, with many highlighting how quickly they receive reimbursement. However, some customers find the claims portal and the provider’s automated phone system difficult to navigate.
haven't filed yet, will let you know later
Claim was denied. We were not given a fair chance to argue or dispute our claim. Not even a partial reimbursement for a cancelation that was not our choice. They were quick to respond with a letter but supervisor did not return our calls as promised.
did not need to make claim because the Zurich airport found our Camera and shipped it to MIA!
I used this carrier, as I had used them in the past when I did have to make a claim. They were the best! Everyone was so supportive and helpful. I felt completely comfortable using them again, and, got the best coverage for the least amount of money!
We did not have a claim on this trip, nor did we have occasion to call on them for any purpose during our trip.
However, we have had the misfortune, through no fault of our own, to have to file a claim on three previous trips (back to 2007). In all three instances, the claims process was relatively painless (yes, of course, you have to provide documentation to back up the claim and that can be a minor hassle).
CSA was prompt in responding to our inquiries, forthcoming about the claims process, and timely in sending us an inarguable settlement. Further, CSA has provided the best coverage at the lowest cost among the providers we have been able to locate. We have been totally satisfied with their services.
I note that some of the more negative reviews of CSA tend to focus on elements that the individual should have been aware of from the time they bought the policy (e.g., what was covered and what was not). CSA customer service could have answered any questions the user had, if he or she had been perspicacious enough to ask, rather than simply assuming something was covered -- hey, the policy is a CONTRACT, with obligations on both sides.
Did not make a claim
We did not experience any need for contacting the insurance provider. However, it was a comfort knowing we were insured if an emergency occurred.
I didn't have to use my insurance at all, so it was just for my peace of mind.
claim has not been resolved
We bought insurance 7 days before our 15 day Europe trip. We thought the $$ was reasonable. We did not need to make a claim, but felt more secure having the insurance. We investigated 6-7 travel insurance companies, and liked what Squaremouth was offering for its reasonable price.
