Fortunately, I did not need to ask for help or make a claim. I was very glad to have the insurance, however, since we were in France during the recent wave of strikes, and I had doubts as to whether we would get to where we were supposed to be by train, or whether, for that matter, we would get out of France when we were supposed to. So it gave me piece of mind to know I had the insurance.

We had a medical issue arise during our trip but were unable to access the "hotline" because we had no access to a phone. I mean, we could have used the hotel phone, but we were told by the hotel that it would cost a lot of money to use their phones. We tried to go online to access something, but that did not work. We ended up going to a clinic on our own. I suppose that was our fault for not having a cell phone or a calling card, but that was frustrating. My advise - make sure you research phone access while in the foreign county or else you will not be able to get the immediate help this insurance offers.
