    I usually buy trip insurance for my trips. I travel a lot. However I will not be buying trip insurance ever again. It is a complete scam. Doesn't cover anything . I have never filed a claim and this time when I did , I wasn't covered! My trip to Nepal was delayed by the generation Z revolt in which 10 people were killed. The city of Kathmandu was on a 24 hour curfew the week we were supposed to arrive, we couldn't get a hold of our guide as there was a block out of the internet, and the airport was being intermittently closed.Instead of arriving in Kathmandu , or being diverted elsewhere we changed our tip to Delhi. I was asking for 349$ reimbursement to cover the changes in airline flights. Global Assistance previous to the change and they said that I would be reimbursed. However I filed a claim and got NOTHING. Nothing was covered because it wasn't classified as terrorism!! Not sure who is supposed to classify it!! I will NEVER buy trip insurance again.

    It was one week away from my trip and I realized I had not purchased the insurance. I got up at 1am, went online and purchased it. Now I’m done. Within 15 minutes I realized I miscalculated the amount and called the customer service line. At 1:30am I was connected to a pleasant agent who updated my policy with the proper amount. I have nothing but great things to say about this carrier. I am considering getting the year long policy. It will be worth it for me.

    Claim page could not find my policy. Was directed to another page to look for it and my policy was found. But when the page directed me back to the claims page, it again could not find my policy. After repeating this a few times, I sent email to customer service explaining my problem and also described the problem I faced during my travel (canceled flight that resulted in arrival being one day later. I forfeited 1 night's hotel, and I also had to rebook the separate domestic leg of the flight (separate ticketing). I enclosed all documents (rebooking and invoice/receipt for the hotel, and notice from the airline of the canceled light).

    I received a form letter (see below) that indicated that nobody read my email or suggested how to work around the unrecognized policy number on their eClaims portal. So, I have not "officially' filed a claim using the eClaims portal, but I tried to get help and they have been totally unhelpful.

When you file your claim, please allow us time to assign your claim to a Claim Representative. Once your claim is assigned, your claim representative will perform an initial review of the documentation you submitted. Once the initial review has been completed, we will reach out to you via email if additional information is required. Under normal circumstance, the claims process can take up to 30 days.     My policy number was not recognized but I included the policy documents in the eClaim form. After that they acted promptly and my claim was approved.

    My only concern and not for my particular case but uploading all the documents might be a bit tedious for folks not very computer literate!

    They answered the claim and processed it quickly, that was on 10/31/2025. As of 11/24/2025 I have not received a check as promised.

    My claim was settled after 3 weeks. My claim was initially closed and turned over to the fraud department. It was a relatively small claim for accommodations, but they demanded past medical records and I wasn’t claiming any medical. They also wanted to see copies of tickets for an event that we were suppose to attend while on the trip as well; even though the tickets were free and not insured. I’m satisfied by the end result, but I felt violated by the interrogation and the demand for personal information that wasn’t relevant to the claim.

    This is the best travel insurance I have purchased. Twice I filed claims and they were handled quickly and easily. I had experience with another travel insurance company that took 5 months and multiple filings and calls before I was reimbursed. I won't be using any other service from now on.
