Many Generali customers appreciate the fast and easy online claims process, with many highlighting how quickly they receive reimbursement. However, some customers find the claims portal and the provider’s automated phone system difficult to navigate.
Either on purpose or through shear incompetence, Generali made the claim process incredibly difficult and frustrating. It was impersonal and seemed to me as the end user designed to wear me down so i would just give up and not pursue the claim. After weeks of back and forth with the adjuster over email where I would provide the documents requested and answer any questions but would receive the EXACT SAME copy and paste form email back asking for the same information I finally got the adjuster on the phone and had to LITERALLY explain to her how airplane connections work and why we had missed our connecting flight due to severe weather. Only after a frustrating phone call and multiple attempts to explain airplane connections did she finally get it and move our claim forward. Someone working for a travel insurance company and responsible for approving claims should at least have basic knowledge of air travel. Absolutely frustrating. I'll never use Generali again.
Our vacation ended at the airport as we were about to check in for our flight due to a medical emergency for my husband. He ended up in the Emergency room. The hotel was kind enough to fully refund what was at that point a non refundable booking. GGA did not pay for the airline ticket because we received travel credit from the airline, even though a future travel credit is not equivalent to a cash refund, as it limits me to a single provider, timeframe, and terms of use. This interpretation is inconsistent with both consumer expectations and regulatory guidance.

My claim has been denied and I am protesting that denial.

My claim was initially denied and then I was notified it was being reviewed again. There was almost no communication for over two weeks and when I called I was told to check on line. My sign in information had been deleted probably due to the initial denial. Finally I was notified that my claim was approved and my payment was made very quickly. I would give 4 stars if there had been better communication.

I fractured my left humerus. They got me back to the US but with some mix ups. I was in a remote area and they could not find transportation to airport so cancelled first flight they scheduled. I found transportation through my guide on my trip. I paid for transportation to hospital as well as transportation to airport and hotel stay. I provided these receipts multiple times but did not get reimbursed. I am grateful I got home and my insurance paying my medical bills.

Everything worked out other than I could not get assistance creating a log in - so payment defaulted to a paper check which ended up fine. Otherwise, worked well, thank you.
I filled a claim on 09/03 and have only received an acknowledgment but no other response. I am unable to provide a complete assessment of GGA at this point in time

To start my claim, I initially tried to include all of the required documents to the best of my ability. The insurance company requested
one more document which I sent them promptly. Shortly thereafter, they sent me another request for 4 or 5 additional documents. I felt
like they were just making it hard to process the claim so I got frustrated. My claim was the result of the Air Canada strike back in August
so I decided I would attempt to try Air Canada directly to see if I could get some satisfaction.
