I changed my itinerary slightly and needed to add a few extra days coverage. I tried calling the number recommended and was unable to get through to anyone other than a recorded selection of actions to take. None of which helped me. I finally called the "claims" number and the person (real) was able to assist me. I also had tried to change my dates of travel on your website and that did not work either.

My luggage was delayed for 5 days and I filed a claim for some expenses incurred. The claim process was straightforward and I received reimbursement within a couple of days.

I was pleased with how my claim was handled. I did have trouble getting some of the paperwork downloaded but eventually got it done. I will use this company again.
I do not know if anyone has talked to the UK's National Health Service.

Purchasing the insurance was quick, easy, and cost effective. Our insurance included delays and lost luggage - we had a delay and lost luggage. Our claim was handled quickly and without issue.
I will buy insurance through the squaremouth portal again in the future. It saved money and I was surprised and delighted with the response when we had to file a claim.

After reviewing the policy which included medical evacuation & repatriation, I contacted customer service to ask if Generali would pay the cost of medical evacuation upfront should the need arise, or if we would have to pay the cost and then seek reimbursement after the fact, and was advised the later was the case, so I believe it is important that everyone purchasing the plan is aware of this and ensures they have adequate credit authorization lined-up beforehand so they are not scrambling in an emergency to find funding, or worse yet are denied medical evacuation because of lack of ability to pay any required upfront costs.

Very slow response time. The email confirmation acknowledging that a claim was filed took 6 business days. After 10 days still no other communication from them. Their site also has very little status info.

Horrible communication and the Generali claims portal is terrible. Plus they continually asked for the same information 3-4 times depending on what it was.
Very difficult to deal with, seems like they just tried to wear me down so they would not need to pay.

We experienced a trip interruption that was fully and quickly covered by Generali. Their premium was significantly lower than other insurers and we were very happy with their handling of our claim.
