IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.
I wanted to extend my policy for a few days as my flight home had changed, and the customer service email took days to respond and when they did, they told me it wasn't possible so I had to buy another policy for a few days extension to cover my flight. I was not happy.
As of today, the process is complete and I have received my claim amount in full. However, the process getting here was quite difficult and burdensome. More complete communication with my questions would have made it much better. Some questions were answered, but usually ignored and I was often frustrated with what I was being asked to provide, and why. I explained my thinking about some requests, but never received a reply. My phone calls to the 24-hour emergency service WERE handled well; someone always answered and was understanding and helpful (except in one instance).
Easy to choose the policy I wanted. If I was a first timer, it would have been easy calling and getting some recommdations from their personnel.

My claim was denied, IMG took a month to deny my claim and they never want to pay
Because I was careful to have plenty of evidence to support my claim, the process was smooth and quick!
No additional information was requested and I was able to follow the claim as it passed through processing.
I don’t have much to comment on. Filing a claim was relatively easy. I am still waiting for IMG to process the claim.
We were very pleased with the claim we submitted to IMG. They said we would get a payment in 15 business days and we actually got it in 15 calendar days. One thing we were concerned about in filing the claim was that they wanted an official explanation of why our flight was delayed. Since we had no way of getting that, we just went into great detail about the scheduled flight times and the actual flight times. Apparently, that was good enough and they processed the claim. After we originally filed it, we anticipated getting multiple questions from them about the things we were claiming. We didn't receive a single question from them and they refunded everything we requested. If we take another overseas trip, we will certainly consider IMG for our travel insurance and are recommending them to others.

Attempt to contact IMG for assistance due to a canceled flight, resulted in an automated message to call back in a few days. Filed claim a week ago, still awaiting outcome.
I filed a claim for cancellation due to a medical condition. The claim was approved and I was notified on 2-17-26 that payment would be in my bank account within 3-5 business days. As of this writing on 4-3-26 I have yet to receive the funds. I spoke with customer service on 4 different occasions regarding this to be told each time that my issue was being sent to the ‘escalation’ team. No one from IMG has reached out to follow up. I have filed a zero complaint with Squaremouth and am hoping their assistance will resolve the issue.
