*The overall customer rating is the average of all reviews for the provider since they joined the marketplace.
IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.
I will always purchase with Square Mouth as I like the staff.
They will not respond to my text or email. Not been great to work with them.
1) IMG says they require up to ten days to review a claim, and in my case they used every day of the ten.
2) My claim was for Trip Cancellation due to illness. IMG processed the claim as Medical Reimbursement and are requesting medical bills and proof of payment,.
3) I have written IMG hopefully clarifying the purpose of claim and verifying that all required documentation had been submitted with the original submission. I expect another 10 day delay per their procedures. The original claim was submitted July 22, 2025; today is August 12.
4) A phone call to the only number provided proved useless. The agent was not a staff person of IMG and could only recommend that I e mail IMG to try to correct the situation.
5) I await their payment per the contract with baited breath. I would never buy insurance with them again.
After several different requests for additional information such as a letter from our doctor stating at the time of purchase we were able to travel. We planned the trip and purchased the the policy 2 years in advance of the travel dates our claim was finally settled

My claim has been review for long time
We were told at Costamed Hospital in Cozumel that the hospital red flagged IMG because of previous international patients where IMG denied all claims. So far they have requested the same information several times and quite frankly were abusive in their phone calls. I am expecting them likely do the same on our claim. They told hospital that because they contacted Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island, they will not issue a GOP (Guarantee of Payment).
My wife received a Certificate to Travel from her doctor in Mexico but we were told by IMG it was too early to leave. The hospital said my wife could travel on a commercial flight saving everyone money. Our daughter, a Nurse Practitioner met us and traveled with us from Houston to Rhode Island. They called no less than 6 times on the final days were were in Mexico warning us not to travel.
If they do not pay the claim, I will involve our attorney general and contact the federal consumer protection agency. Unfortunately our experience so far has not been good and we have very low expectations.
I had an accident during my trip that required medical attention. I went to the local hospital and received treatment. The trip continued without any further issues. I contacted IMG for reimbursement of the costs I had to pay at the time of the appointment, 600 Canadian dollars. I am still awaiting approval and reimbursement.
I was very happy with the process and the availability of purchasing this policy for a specific event
I got insurance because it is recommemded. However, I have never filed a claim and scared that if I ever need to, I wont know what to do.
It would be great to get an email prior to the trip to kindly state the bare basics of the coverage, and if necessary, how to file a claim.
Thanks!
Our claim was denied twice. Yes we were seen on July 1 st for generalized weakness. Yes we saw a physician on July 2nd and received a diagnosis of infection site unknown. We were given ten days of a broad spectrum antibiotic and given clearance to go on trip. We asked doctor if we should cancel trip and her response was there was no need as long as we had completed antibiotic, which we did. The first ten days of our cruise was uneventful but symptoms reoccurred approaching July 23rd. When seen in infirmary it was obvious that there was an infection, site unknown. We had no way of knowing that any infection remained until symptoms reoccurred. If doctor had suggested trip cancellation we would have and because it was only a few days before our trip IMG would have incurred the full cost which was several thousands of dollars. We were only asking to be reimbursed for the unforeseen medical costs incurred on the trip.
