See how IMG compares to other providers on Squaremouth in customer satisfaction and service quality:
*The overall customer rating is the average of all reviews for the provider since they joined the marketplace.
IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.
Our trip was cancelled due to sudden surgery. I file claim form with all documents the claim form ask for. I had questions but you can NOT speak to a human in the refund department until I file. After filing I got an email that my form is not complete and asking for a list of missing items. However, I went down the list and refer to my 17 pages I submitted and said they were included. And then had questions. It would be so much faster and efficient if I could just speak to a representative to get clarity on what they needed. Using AI waste so much time.
Priced fairly
I sent an email alerting them that I intended to file a claim and the reasonfor the claim
I got a response that made it seem like my claim was not valid. I sent an email asking g for clarification, but never heard back. I am waiting for the airline to finishing processing my claim with them before I file with IMG for the remainder.
It is great to have filters to select the coverage you want.

Great travel insurance. I felt like I had a piece of mind. I will use them for all my international trips. Great customer service.
Satisfactory.
Since I don’t claim or ask for assistance, I can’t comment further.
Yes I would recommend you
Just filed a claim for hotel reimbursement. Our airline west jet informed us of a strike on Sugust 2 so we had to move up a day to 8/1 to indure we don’t miss our cruise to Alaska so we had to pay for an additional night at our hotel, we would like to be reimbursed for this unforeseen expense
I have two claims to file, one for a delayed flight of one day, and a second for a medical claim regarding a fall my wife had in Athens, Greece. All claims for IMG need to be filled out online with the uploading of requested documents. Personal phone service and help is available, although discouraged with an opening recording. I ignored it three times and connected with a live agent fairly quickly.
I filed my flight delay reimbursement claim yesterday. It takes a few days to process before feedback starts coming back. In as much as the document uploading is completely self-guided with on-screen instructions, the program can and does interpret the information asked for incorrectly. However, that can be remedied with the help of a live agent over the phone. I uploaded into the IMG site three documents showing my hotel bill in three different ways, proving that I did pay for it. The program tripled my hotel reimbursement claim rather than understanding the duplicate hotel charges were all the same claim request.
I am very early in the claim process so I can't comment much more. I will say that many documents are required for proof of a claim, but that applies to all travel insurance claims. The IMG program states we all must be patient filling out the required tasks and be well prepared, which I am for the medical claim to come which also needs a special form to be filled out by a physician and signed. I didn't expect that and so we needed to make an appointment for a doctor's visit to get that form filled out, which I needed to convert from a PDF into into a hard copy. And then I will need to scan it to get it back into a PDF file for uploading. Obviously, I'm prepared to do that, but I'm thinking that not everybody has that kind of tech sophistication. Ask me in a few weeks how it's going and I can give you more feedback.
My travel companion cancelled and did not go on the trip. She had a medical issue and a note from her doctor saying she should not travel. Because this was a mental health reason, my claim to get reimbursed the $600 for my single supplement fee (now that my room no longer had two people) was denied. Apparently if you have a mental health reason for cancelling a trip, you need to be hospitalized to have that qualify. In our country at this time, you have to be a threat to yourself or others to be hospitalized for mental health. So if you are not suicidal or homicidal, your plan will not cover a mental health issue as a valid reason for cancelling a trip, even if a doctor has said you should not travel. The rules need to match reality. I am not filing an appeal as apparently this was all in the fine print somewhere, but its quite disappointing
The only reason I got this policy was to cover us in case something happened with the flight on the way to our cruise.
Because if you get delayed or flight is canceled, that ship leaves with or without you.
Our airline went on strike the day of our flight.
I had to spend $1500 the day before to get replacement tickets just in case.
Thank goodness I did because there were no more seats by the time. The airline finally canceled the flight Sunday morning and rebooked us the next day on a flight that would not have worked with our cruise.
So I have filed a claim for that, but of course, have not heard a thing.
So purchasing a travel insurance policy that was specifically made for cruises and flight interruption still hasn’t paid off.
