IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.
We had an interruption that caused us to turn around and come back home. I have filed a claim with IMG and send all appropriate documentation. My only concern is the lack of communication with me.
I was frustrated that the advertised telehealth benefit was not actually available to me. I also was not able to get any helpful information about how to find and access a doctor in the country where I was traveling from customer service.
Filed claim with IMG on or about July 22nd, 2024. Every time I send them what they asked for they want something else. Their phone customer service is cordial but all they say is “…your claim is being reviewed”. I am very frustrated with their service! I still have not been paid anything as of August 23rd.
Pretty simple case.
Due to fly out on July 21st, tested positive for COVID by Dr. on July 21st.

I came down with COVID on the day we were scheduled to fly out for our vacation. Two days later I filed the claim and sent in all information that IMG asked for. As the weeks passed I was asked for additional information, which I sent. Almost one month later they sent me a form to be completed by the attending physician. (Why wasn’t this firm sent in the very beginning?). I located the Customer Care Manager and she assisted me in finally receiving the total claim over 5 weeks later. She was WONDERFUL! I will use IMG again.
I filled out the forms and submitted data and an explanation letter by fax. I have not heard weather IMG received my claim yet.

I did file a claim since I was unable to take this trip due to illness. I am hoping the claim process goes well. I’m a little stressed by it.
Despite what they say on their website, filing a claim is not fast or easy. They ask for information more or different information than what applied to my claim and do not allow you to move past that point without supplying information. Finally just made up a document that said the item they requested did not apply. Also ask for details of the situation, but only allowed for 900 words, which in a complicated situation was not even close to enough.

I filed 3 claims, one for additional airlines tickets we had to purchase due to a cancelled flight. That one was paid, but it took over 3 weeks to process. I also files 2 claims for delayed baggage for 2 different issues during the same trip. That has not been paid or resolved.
The information was clear and sent as soon the insurance was purchased. Very happy with the product. I will definitely purchase in my next travels.
People very knowledgeable and helpful in contrasting different policies.
