    PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU ARE THINKING OF BUYING A POLICY WITH SquareMouth and John Hancock. DON'T!!!! I filed a claim 9 weeks ago and haven'r received any benefits despite paying over $400 for a policy. My trip was cancelled due to winter snowstorm, and al flights were grounded. I lost my first night's deposit, provided all documentation in early March, was asked a second time for the same documents, and have been ghosted by this company! Buyer beware.

    There was no problem purchasing the claim. When I called in from my hospital bed to report my trip was delayed due to me being hospitalized there was also no problem.

    The problem I have now is that I can't get anyone to confirm the receipt of all required documents. I was told it would be reviewed over the next 50 days and that I won't be able to find out until then if the documents were received.

    50 days is excessive to begin with but at least let me know if the documents were received. When I called in I was told that there is no way for me to contact the claims department. It's reasonable that I shouldn't have to wait 50 days to find out if my claim documents were received.

    Impossible to reach anyone in customer service. Only avail e thru chat on line. Then had to repeat the situation ;broken leg) several times because chat bit or people don’t communicate. Horrible

    I open a claim and I was told they will take 50 day to review it... 50 days!!! Not many people will have the patience to go through such a wait.

    Our travel coordinator stated we could buy insurance at any time and get the cancel for any reason policy, which was not true. That was the reason we called to speak to a live person.

    I Djodji GBIKPI-BENISSAN and John Tokponwey traveled together recently to Lomé-Togo and were covered by Hancock. Our flight by Ethiopianairlines ET 512 has been delayed twice from March 2 nd to March 12 costing additional expenses and missing one luggage at arrival at JFK.The luggage is still missing but still searched.
    Please advise how to proceed.

    I submitted a claim for a trip delay. We lost 3 days of our vacation due to canceled flights. They never got back to me or responded to my emails.

    I had a great deal of uncertainty regarding taking my trip in the midst of Covid. I called and had email communication with John Hancock several times and had great customer service during each interaction. I have already booked another trip and have selected John Hancock again. Will certainly continue to recommend John Hancock to others in the future as well.
