We cancelled the trip due to a medical emergency which precluded flying.
We are filing a claim for unrecoverable lodging expenses that Expedia and Hotel could not renegotiate.

I have spent hours trying to get help TO NO AVAIL - I have concluded that I have been the victim of a scam and plan to report same to consumer authorities and on line references for customers such as Yelp etc unless help is forthcoming immediately

We were told it would be 76 days to review and respond to my claim. I am inquiring if I need an attorney. This has been a nightmare.

My experience purchasing was just fine. I have submitted my claim with John Hancock, but I finally called after not even getting an auto-response. They told me it will be 88 days before the claim is reviewed.

I submitted a claim April 9, 2022 regarding Delta's KLM partner's 4.5 hour delay from Glasgow to Amsterdam. This caused me to miss both of my connections for the day after flying to Amsterdam. Therefore, Delta's KLM rescheduled my flights from Amsterdam to Sacramento, CA to the following day.

I called Delta's customer service number and messaged them to check for alternatives or hotel accommodations. There was no response.

Since Delta didn't offer me alternatives, I booked a room at the airport's Sheraton Hotel not only because of its convenience, but they offered covid tests for travel in their lobby since my current test's 24 hour time period expired.

I went to the airport's grocery store to get dinner items and sundries because my luggage was on the airplane. I had breakfast in the hotel the following morning.

Since I haven't heard from Squaremouth or John Hancock yet, I've given low scores. I'll revisit this review after my claim has been completed.

We had to get some extra paperwork & clarification before our travel, and customer service was terrific to work with.

PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU ARE THINKING OF BUYING A POLICY WITH SquareMouth and John Hancock. DON'T!!!! I filed a claim 9 weeks ago and haven'r received any benefits despite paying over $400 for a policy. My trip was cancelled due to winter snowstorm, and al flights were grounded. I lost my first night's deposit, provided all documentation in early March, was asked a second time for the same documents, and have been ghosted by this company! Buyer beware.

There was no problem purchasing the claim. When I called in from my hospital bed to report my trip was delayed due to me being hospitalized there was also no problem.

The problem I have now is that I can't get anyone to confirm the receipt of all required documents. I was told it would be reviewed over the next 50 days and that I won't be able to find out until then if the documents were received.

50 days is excessive to begin with but at least let me know if the documents were received. When I called in I was told that there is no way for me to contact the claims department. It's reasonable that I shouldn't have to wait 50 days to find out if my claim documents were received.
