Simple to use and price was good
1. I took the time to call prior to obtaining this policy. I spent about 1/2 hour asking questions and was very specific about particular scenarios. After purchasing the policy, I don’t believe I was given accurate information.
2. I filed my claim on a couple weeks ago and haven’t heard anything. I chatted with a rep and confirmed they received it and it was in line for review. This seems unreasonable to not get status updates.
We had to cancel our trip due to Covid 19. I submitted a claim to John Hancock on 1/21/2022 on the form they had sent to me after speaking with me on the phone. I am awaiting their response as of today, 2/2/22.
It was a good experience and I was happy to have it due to the pandemic but it would have been more helpful if it was made more clear at the beginning of the process how timing directly affects coverage. So I would have liked to see more clear transparency at the beginning of the process on the website about how available coverages is based on how much time there is before your scheduled trip. When I spoke to a representative it was made clear but by that time it was too late for me to get the extended coverage I was thinking about. Although it all worked out and we were able to go on our trip so didn't need to file a claim.

They’ve taken over a month and haven’t gotten back to me about my claim.
Due to reasons beyond my control (Israel clsoing its borders) I was unable to take my trip. Whereas the airlines and an Israeli covid test site provided with me a full refund, you refused. And for that you get 1 star. If I had the opportunity I'd give you 0-stars.
I filed a claim for delayed luggage a few weeks ago and haven't heard anything regarding it.
So far the process has been very professional and helpful. I am currently waiting on the payout for the policy. After speaking to a very helpful agent it would appear that we will have full recovery and the insurance will have been well worth it. I am hopeful this will be the case.
