John Hancock was great. No hassle, 100% refund.
My travel dates changed. It was very easy to change my travel dates on the policy.
Our Flight was cancelled due to airport strike. I had 3 hour trip delay and cancel for any reason.Trip delay was 28 hours and had to change airports. Claim paid with no problems. Having receipts and flight cancellation documents made it go quicker. Got prompt reply to emails. I would use John Hancock again.
Happy with the company thus bought to date all the travel insurance through them.
The agents were helpful, direct and pleasant.
I contacted John Hancock to ask a couple of questions. My main concern was that there was no place on the original application to note who would be a beneficiary, should I die on the trip. I was told they would add the beneficiary to the contract and send it to me, but I never received the new contract.
It seems to me that when choosing a policy, we should be able to include the chosen beneficiary.
It went perfectly. The claim form was simple, submitted it and scanned receipts online, they sent confirmation it was received. The check arrived in the mail two weeks later.
The agent was professional and knowledgeable.
I have no complaints about the speed with which the claim was resolved, nor the final result. The policy paid out exactly as I thought it should have.
My only complaint involves communication. After filing the complaint, I never received any acknowledgement that the claim had been received, or that the supporting documents I had submitted were satisfactory. A simple acknowledgement would have been quite welcome. But then again, given the speed with which the claim was resolved, I was in limbo only a short while.
I am withholding further comment about JH until I learn the outcome of my claim. I was not at all reassured by the response of the JH representative on the assistance line.
