Our travel provider went bankrupt shortly before our trip. We filed a claim for the return of our deposit. The intake person was very helpful and the form was fairly easy to complete. We received a full refund in a timely manner. We were very pleased with the whole experience (except, of course, for losing our tour!).
The travel company I used for a trip to China went bankrupt. I filed a claim with John Hancock. They reviewed the case with the information I sent to them. I received full reimbursement for the amount I paid the travel company. No problems and I am glad I had the policy
Fortunately, we did not need to use the emergency care. I plan to get more coverage again for my wife and myself when we fly abroad.

I was injured one week prior to departure and had to cancel our trip. I have spoken with John Hancock customer service several times and have filed a claim for reimbursement for airfare and train tickets. I am waiting disposition of the claim.

Claim process was extremely fast, once I assembled all the necessary documentation. I used GREAT CARE to put ALL the documents together with a cover letter explaining the sequence of each, making sure to omit nothing requested/required for the claim. I received an automated confirmation the company received my claim with a message it would be processed in three weeks. In ten days I had a personal email from a claim processor approving the claim, saying I would receive a check within ten days. I actually received the check in about a week. Very fast and efficient. I did speak with the company twice when preparing my claim to be certain I submitted everything they needed. While it was tedious to assemble the documentation, it was necessary and appropriate to assure the insurance company this was a legitimate claim. In fifty years of having insurance coverage (auto, homeowners, etc.), I have only had one or two claims. I always buy trip insurance but never before made a claim and was unsure how it would work and whether expenses would actually be covered. I was very pleasantly surprised at the superb coverage and the ease of processing.
Filed the claim, no response from them for several weeks, then suddenly it was paid. They refuse to send the check to an address outside the US (I'm still traveling) so the check was returned to them. They've made zero effort to follow up & pay out my claim. As far as I'm concerned, that's fraud.
