We were unable to take our trip as planned due to my husbands emergency heart issue. We are currently waiting for John Hancock to process our claim.

The claims process was smooth and straightforward.
Thank you
My trip was great without any issues so I did not have to use the insurance. However, I was grateful for the peace of mind of knowing I had insurance in case it was needed. I would purchase again.
I needed to update the amount of the policy and I called John Handcock. The process was fairly simple and I was satisfied.
I will not be using John Hancock again. When I set up the cancel for any reason policy I was told I would be able to increase the amount covered as the amount of loss deposit increases. The problem was resolved but not without headache. I have used Squaremouth many times before but they did not assist me with this issue.
John Hancock IA is a very well known and trusted name in the industry as well as in history. I particularly liked the quality of the policy and the ease of understanding the product as well as how easy it was to navigate the process. I would certainly recommend them this company to fellow travelers. Thanks.
Sincerely
Everything was great but have to reserve final judgment until I see if the claim goes smoothly. It is for around $200. Hopefully it will be a good experience.

They finally paid me. But I have been ion the insurance business for over 50 years (retired but still consulting) and can tell you the amount of information they require is onerous and ridiculous. Id I have a report snd bill from the medical department of the cruise ship? nAsking for a copy of my passport, and copies of the visa and stamps, etc. is uncalled. My claims was for one doctor visit and 2 prescription totaling less that $200 and I paid over $1500 in premium.
I might add that I had the dame experiences a few years ago for about $100 in bills although that was a different company.
I do have a suggestion. Why don't you offer policies with a $500 or $1000 deductible? I would wager that over 90% of all of the claims are less than $1,000. They could charge lower premiums and would reduce the number of claims dramatically.
Your website is great and your staff is wonderful. Why con't you get claims handling authority from the insurers at least up to a reasonable and let your capable staff do it?
And I do like your follow up and communications.
We have had no issues with John Hancock so far. Customer Service was very helpful in answering my question. I also submitted a question to Assist. They emailed me requesting additional information. I provided the information but never heard back from them.
I had hoped to receive more to over my trip interruption cost due to weather but I received more than the agent said I would on the phone so the result is a draw.
Got sick while in India and Nepal. Upon return to USA, contacted and visited family Dr for treatment. Contacted JHIA to advise I would be making claim for reimbursement of expenses associated with treatment. Was sent claim papers and instructions. Overall experience has been acceptable. Will wait to see how claim is resolved.
Filed the claim today for reimbursement of hotel night due to missed connection. I will review when I see how quickly efficiently and properly this is handled, until then, what is there to review?
