Still in the process of dealing with my claim for travel delay
I was given many options for insurance. I picked John Hancock because it was a long standing insurance company. Even though I paid more, I felt it was a good choice. Unfortunately, I had a medical emergency on my trip, and will be submitting a claim, as soon as I get the results from my doctor on a follow up appointment on Friday, December 15, 2017..
I was not presented with an option to have this coverage extended to rental vehicles. By no means would i have known that rental vehicles are not covered under trip interruption or cancel for any reason. When i called for a claim because of interruptions in my trip, i was very conveniently told that rental cars are not covered.
Thanks for your help and i will make sure for my future vacation trips i do not use your service and will recommend everyone to not use your service.
I paid over $120 for top of the line travel insurance for a trip to Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia whereby my iFly carbon-fiber luggage was damaged by Lufthansa from Orlando, Frankfurt, Venice--and because I was unable to file a claim while traveling (needed to make connections and catch a tour) John Hancock said I cannot file a claim!!! I have photographs and my airline ticket, so who else is going to damage my suitcase? Very disappointing. Make sure you read the 100 pages of fine print before purchasing trip insurance as it can be a RIP OFF, like this one!!!!
agents were very helpful and seemed genuinely interested in helping with insurance.
I made a claim for trip interruption from an injury and it was handled very well. I am not sure of the roles of Hancock, sevencorners, or squaremouth as all was done by email, but all went smoothly. The multiple forms from sevencorners were a bit catchall and confusing to submit, but all went well. The medical claims were correctly denied as I did not get medical assistance while overseas (as required by the policy terms)--just when I returned. In any case, all was smooth and I would recommend the parties involved.
Easy to sign up, very nice customer service reps. Very affordable coverage. Peace of mind. Thank you.
Fortunately I didn't have any incidents and did not use the insurance. On the day of departure on my trip I realized that I extended my vacation 2 days longer and did not alert the insurance. I called on a Saturday morning my day of departure. Representative could not find anybody to make a decision. I left in the evening. A week later I received an email stating that the extension was not approved. While I understood the rationale I thought it either should have been approved for my 23 days vacation or request for additional payment.
I am in the process of filing a claim for a cancelled flight on WOW airlines from Paris-Charles DeGaulle Airport to Reykavik to Chicago-Ohare on Nov. 6, 2018.
I will be better able to answer your survey when my issues are resolved.
Quality coverage for the price. Both me and my traveling partner had health issues on our trip so it was nice to know we had protection if needed. I will purchase each time I travel overseas event id not requested by my tour company.
