I was told about a two week processing time. It took about three. Not a big issue, but they could have reached out to me about the delay. I called once and emailed them twice.
Overall, I gave them 4 stars because they did not keep me informed. The claim was for the amount I was expectimg which was in 5 figures.
Your description of the "cancel for any reason" is misleading as it requires that it be 2 days prior to the trip. Since any reason can be up to the moment of departure, the 2 days is nothing more than a "gotcha " clause buried in page 7 of the details and mentioned nowhere on the summary..

I submitted a claim about a week ago, since I couldn't take the trip and didn't have surgery I submitted a claim under "cancel for any reason".

Very professional and courteous staff, will definitely recommend and use you again, especially when booking with travel suppliers that don't offer the insurance you need in a time of need.
Angie, at John Hancock Insurance, took our call she was very thorough giving us the information we needed to fill out forms and submit a claim. She immediately e-mailed us the proper forms.
Because the ER in Baberg Germany did not give us forms stating a diagnosis we informed Angie the Uniworld Captain of the River Queen is in the process of having the proper information gathered and sent via Uniworlds offices in Switzerland. Angie assured us we had 90 days to make everything is in order and can send on the receipts and information we have. She gave us her name and extension # so we can call if we have questions. Great service!!
We have purchased travel insurance several times in the past and never have had to use it. We are pleased with SquareMouth and John Hancock .
Claim was processed quickly, no hassle and settlement correct to the penny.

I called the next day after i returned from my trip to do a claim. John hancock insurance agency told me that they will send me a email to do the claim. But till now i havent get any email from them.
