Many Arch RoamRight customers highlight the provider’s quick claims process and compassionate customer service representatives. However, some travelers report that updates on their claim status are rare, and gathering the needed documents for claims can be challenging.
RoamRight turned out to be the best experience I've ever had with an insurance company. This policy was for my mother. She became seriously ill during her trip and was hospitalized for over a month. When it became clear that she would not improve enough to fly commercially, even with the excellent care she was receiving at her destination (in the U.S.), RoamRight paid for an air ambulance to return her home, even though this was not explicitly covered by her policy. RoamRight is a great name for this company, as they really did the right thing. We are so grateful to have Mom back home with us, and she has improved a great deal, ready to be discharged from rehabilitation. It's not clear to me if she would have recovered had she continued to stay far away from home and family. I recommend RoamRight to everyone, and I will definitely buy future policies from this company.

Here is my issues - and I suspect I should have read the conditions better but, I never thought I would have been in this dilemma. I will know in the future that policies are reactive and not proactive. We were in Hawaii on vacation when we were made aware of the impending Hurricane in Florida. My husband and I made the decision to leave immediately to be with our families and secure our home. We cut our trip short by 3 days, losing 3 days of prepaid hotel, rental car and pre-paid activities. I phoned and the agent explained that we would not be covered for the lost pre-paid days. She explained that insurance would only have paid if our flights would have been cancelled and we had to stay longer.
Obviously, our flights were eventually cancelled as they were due to arrive in Miami, Florida on 9/10/17. At the time of our decision, nothing was delayed or cancelled. By opting to fly home sooner, we were able to be with our families through this horrible storm. I just think it stinks that we cannot recoup the 3 days lost. Staying would have been far more costly to both us and Roam Right.

I have filed a claim with Roam Right because I was laid off in July before my trip. I was told I just needed a letter from my employer when I cancelled in July then I was told I had to submit more documentation which I did. Then I was asked for proof I cancelled and my carriers refund policy and I am still waiting for a reply after 3 weeks.

Roamright and their partner On Call International were available during my cancelled connection stress but unfortunately didn't have a bilingual representative available which would have been more to help me navigate the confusing out-of-my-comfort-zone situation. I've filed a claim but because of all the hurricanes going on right now it's (understandably) delayed, I'll update my review after it goes through. Overall pretty good so far, well worth the very reasonable cost.

My claims administrator was very helpful and even fixed my claim form for me after I initially filled it out wrong. Although there was some slower-than-expected communication I totally understand because of the extremely active Hurricane season -- I'm sure they were swamped. I wish the website provided more information about the status of my claim or a way to adjust a claim submission, I feel like a little web development would go a long way to improve transparency of the process and reduce unnecessary support phone calls. Everything accounted for though, I would highly recommend RoamRight to anyone traveling for any period of time. A+ service. Thank you.
Price vs coverage
RoamRight denied our claim in full because we canceled our trip because of my wife's health issies. I did indicate in our claim that she had many health issues including heightened anxiety . Her physician also filed a 20 page document in support of our claim . My understanding is that he focused on her mental health issues including progressive dementia and anexoria. My understanding is that he onluy mentioned anxiety in passing . Yet , RoamRight recently sent us a claim denial based upon anxiety issues .being raised . They failed to indicate whether any consideration was even givento any other health-related issues. Needless to say , I am angry and confused by their callous attitude and insinuation that we were filing a frivolous claim .
I plan to file an appeal based upon additional evidence that I've since obtained . Obviously , I am not hopeful based upon the the previous curt and insensitive reply that we received . Just to be clear , I am constantly dealing with her health problems and firmly believe that they would have overwhemed both of us if we had traveled to a foreign country . At this point , I would have rated my experience as a "0" based upon yje poor attitude and service shown by this loathsome company currently being supported by your internet site .I would further recommend that other tracelers avoid RoamRight at all costs if you choose to still include them on your internet site .

Claim is in process
We saved premium money over what our travel agent offered, who offered a generic policy.
Because of the many options for coverage given to me, I was able to customize our travel policy to more closely cover our specific needs, While at the same time, lower our premium cost.
I will use square-mouth the next time I travel again.
