  • Arch RoamRight policy: Preferred

    I didn't initially notice that this was a secondary insurance policy. I was assured that even though Medicare doesn't provide coverage outside the U.S.A, that after coverage was denied RoamRight coverage would still kick in and cover any claims. Since I don't have any claims I have no way of confirming this. I know my medicare supplemental insurance will not cover anything not first covered by Medicare. If in fact, your insurance would cover outside the U.S. in spite of medicare - it would be very helpful to make it clear in your ads, website, etc. - and would undoubtedly greatly increase your sales. The coverage and price would certainly be a great value.

    My husband was injured and we were unable to make the trip. I am not real computer savvy so I called Roam Right, hoping to have someone explain the process to me and answer some questions. The first phone call, I got a female, there was a lot of background noise as if there was a party. The person basically blew me off and told me to go to the website. So I did, and eventually I got thru it and figured it out. But it made it much more stressful and I was already stressed from my husbands injury and the impact on our lives. I mailed my packet and got a receipt it was delivered but heard nothing. So I called again. Very nice person said they had received packet and had sent us email. I never got it and it was not in my junk mail. She sent it again. I did not get it. A couple weeks later I called again and was told checks were in the mail. That was true. All is well. But............ the poor communication or almost complete lack of communication caused a lot of concern on my part.
    Was it simple, yes. Could it have been less stressful, yes.
    I would use them again but I am sure they have lost business over their poor communication.

    We are very proud to have our customer service representatives and our claims department all in house. Any additional noise heard in the background is simply our customer service and claims teams assisting other customers.

    While we do promote our online claim filing capabilities, we also understand that some feel more comfortable filing claims through the mail. Thus, as explained during your conversation with one of our claims team members, we do allow customers to send in claim forms through the mail or via fax.

    Additionally, we believe communication to be the key to a positive claims experience. RoamRight sends emails to claimants each time their claim has completed a part of the claims review process. With some email providers, these messages may end up in a spam or junk folder, causing the claimant to miss the messages. We understand this can be a frustrating experience and we try to alert claimants to this whenever possible.

    I would absolutely recommend this insurance carrier. I sent in my paperwork and received an email that it had been received. I received a check for the full amount I had spent in about 2 weeks. Very happy with their promptness.

    RoamRight struck me as disorganized. My brother & I both took policies and submitted identical claims due to a flight cancellation. The claims were small. Despite submitting identical documentation, we each received different requests: one asking for confirmation of the flight cancellation while the other did not. One asked for receipts while the other did not. Repeated inquiries re the status of our claims have gone unanswered. We are still waiting for resolution.

    I called the claims dept. on 3/1/17 to ask some questions about how to fill out the claim form and I spoke to Jamie. She was so friendly and answered my questions so clearly and good-naturedly I hung up with the feeling that I was treated so well. She was awesome.

    Your website is not that user friendly. It's kind of confusing to find things. Things aren't where you would expect them to be. I'm no website designer so I can't tell you how to make it better, but it's just not great, that's all.

    I had my purse stolen in Hong Kong 2/27/17.
    I did lose some expensive items and had to replace my passport, driver's license, credit cards, I-phone, other miscellaneous items and my Honk Kong and China Visa at a very high expense. If I had not replaced the Visa's I wouldn't have been able to continue my group tour that was paid for. There was a police report filed in Hong Kong. My mother has been in the hospital since I returned and I haven't had the time to file the claim, but will call your office on Monday.
