  • Seven Corners policy: Trip Protection Elite

    I sent an email to Seven Corners asking a question about damaged luggage. On Saturday, 4/22. Aside from the automatic response saying someone would contact me I have had no communication with them. Very disappointed.

    Seven Corners policy: Liaison Continent excl US

    This insurance was a total waste of money. Your sales team is excellent and made me think that if I were in trouble, I'd be well cared for. Wrong.

    I was in an accident while in Hoi An, Vietnam. I was on a hotel excursion in a three-wheeled vehicle, a motorcycle with a side car. The driver lost control and I ended up face down in a rice paddy with the vehicle pinning me down. My back was injured and I was taken to the local hospital. The hospital was clearly a third world experience. I was sent back to my hotel and contacted you. I wasn't sure I'd need to be evacuated but wanted to start the communication in case I needed it.

    The person I talked to was very nice but didn't seem to know what to do for me. He actually said to me, 'we have hospitals in Saigon and Hanoi but I don't know how we'd get you there' 'If you're hurt, we don't want to put you at 35,000 feet' (why not? ) 'Maybe the hotel knows of another doctor to get a second opinion' And, my favorite, telling me that Hanoi was 16 hours away by car and that probably would be too hard on my back. Duh. He kept acting like he just didn't know what to do in my case...maybe I could just take over. I was very disappointed.

    Why do I have your insurance if my option is to ask the hotel to find me more help than they already were able to? My reaction to '...I don't know how we'd get you there...' really made it clear that this was a waste of money. The person I spoke with didn't know how to get me to adequate medical care but he seemed very very clear that my medical bills wouldn't be covered (he was even able to send me a highlighted email within minutes) because I was 'on a motorcycle' When I pointed out I wasn't on a motorcycle and this was a three-wheeled vehicle his response was 'still, we wouldn't cover any medical expenses, you could appeal it when you get back'. He was really well-versed on what would not be covered but seemed at a loss as to what to do to help someone who is in an emergency situation.

    I bought this insurance for the 'what if'. You did not come through for me when I clearly had the 'what if' situation. I won't be fooled a second time.

    I’ve reviewed your file but I’m unable to entirely agree with your assessment. I’m seeing our Representative’s concern due to some of your symptoms, that would eliminate the option of air travel by helicopter or plane. This concern was specifically why he requested that we send you for a second opinion. Depending on the injury, a flight can take an uncomfortable injury and make it a life threatening event.

    Further concerning is that we clearly offered to make any arrangements for you but that due to an Exclusion in the policy, regarding your method of transport that you were in when the accident happened, we advised that we would not be able to pay or guarantee the medical expenses only. The Evacuation would not fall under that Exclusion.

    I do apologize that we could have been more explicit in our explanation. I would be happy to discuss with you, in order to avoid this type of misunderstanding in the future.

    Seven Corners policy: Trip Protection Economy

    I spoke with a very nice woman after I got out of the hospital and told her I'd be making a claim when I got home. She mailed paperwork to me. I am first going to claim with my united Healthcare Part B and will make my 7 Corners Claim later for whatever part B doesn't cover.

    Taking the insurance was easy. Talked to customer service before I bought and got my questions mostly answered. All trip insurance is too expensive but this was the most economical for what I needed. I had no problems on trip so did not need to file a claim. I'm satisfied, just hope that I could say the same if I had needed to file a claim. That would be the true test of how good of a response, service and company Seven Corners would be. So many horror stories from dissatisfied people on some insurance sites. I put my trust in Squaremouth and have no complaints. I would recommend to others and would buy again if taking an expensive trip.

    We have been purchasing policies from Seven Corners for several years and always with positive results. WhIle fortunately we have never had to file a claim, our relatives had to cancel a trip due to illness and they epwere very pleased with process.

    I had a dreadful experience with Seven Corners. I would like to provide you with copies of my correspondence with them. Please provide me with an email address to send that documentation.

    I will never buy insurance from them again.

    I would like a refund of my premium because I got no benefit at all for a trip that I was not able to take due to influenza B.

    I do not think they were reasonable in their evaluation of my appeal

    I can understand why our determination was not initially acceptable to you, but please consider that all factors surrounding any claim, has to be third party verified. As such we are unable to accept a Physicians Statement, where the signing physician is part of the claim. This scenario does not meet the standard of proof required, per the policy language.
