Customers appreciate Seven Corners’ responsive customer service, especially when helping them select the right policy for their trip. Many travelers highlight the helpfulness and availability of the support team. However, some mention frustrations with the time-consuming paperwork and long wait times for reimbursement during the claims process.
We received good advice about how to add to our original policy as we increased the cost of our trip over the period of one year. i.e.: we just covered our original deposit at first, we added the airfare a few months later, then we added the cost of our tour at the point when we were not longer able to get a refund if we canceled. I was pleased to get that advice and had no idea that we could get coverage that way. I don't know if that was from Seven Corners service personnel or Squaremouth personnel. We also received several quick replies to emails regarding increasing our coverage.
The customer service agent was VERY helpful in walking me through the fine print of competing policies, so I would be sure to have the coverage I thought I might need. She pointed out disclaimers that I would have missed and steered me to policies that cost the same/less that were better suited to my situation. Would never buy a travel policy again without consulting Squaremouth customer service -- terrific support.
I filed what I thought was an easily approved claim with 7 Corners Insurance for a trip delay. The claim was DENIED. They seemed to look for any loophole or reason to deny the claim. I would NOT recommend 7 Corners insurance to anyone who thinks they might have to make a claim. In short the details of my claim are that our flight to Europe was delayed due to a fire in a ATC office outside of O'hare in September, which caused extensive delays and cancellations of flights to and from O'Hare. We were scheduled to fly from LAX, connecting in O'Hare to Budapest. Our initial flight was delayed long enough that we would have missed our connection to Europe in Chicago. Therefore our flights were rescheduled for the next day. We applied for one nights cost of a 3 night prepaid hotel stay. 7Corners denied the claim saying the initial flight was only delayed 3 hours, " which does not meet the policy requirement of a 12 hour delay for benefits to apply. Even though the flight was delayed less that 12 hours, it was delayed long enough we would have missed our connection, and therefore our flights were rescheduled by United. We were delayed more than 24 hours, since so many flights were delayed and cancelled, we were lucky to even get out the next day. They also said "we are unable to confirm that you missed the connecting flight , since you did not actually take the delayed flight. Neither flight was taken to actually have the required delay, no benefits apply". You be the judge, this denial does not make any sense to me since its clear our trip was delayed . I am angry. I would never choose a company that is looking for any possible reason to deny a claim. I would NOT recommend 7 Corners to anyone who thinks they might have to file a claim which is all of us.
We buy these policys for trips but I always wonder will it work?
The policy was fine. Having issues getting paid for my claim. They have you fill out a payment form particularly to indicate how you would like to receive your payment. However, they apparently did not look at this information because though I checked the option for a bank account transfer, they mailed a check and sent it to the wrong address. Now I'm waiting to see when they will be able to re-issue the check. They told me they would call back in 2 days and I have not yet heard back from them. I will have to call again myself.
They were there when I needed help
I have purchased trip insurance through SquareMouth for several trips because they help me find my needed coverage at a reasonable rate. Customer service is very knowledgeable. I have not filed any claims, but I know the front end is excellent.
Had an emergency for my wife and she had to go to Tucson emergency room to make sure she was not having a stroke or heart attack.
Notified Seven Corners by phone the next day and told them we gave their name and address to the hospital and are waiting to see what the hospital does next.
Will have a good answer for you after the bill comes and I find out how they are going to handle it.
