Easy to deal with to buy a policy

Seven Corners policy: Trip Protection Economy

Not at all helpful. The point of travel insurance is to guard against the unexpected.

During my trip to Tibet, a landslide in northern Nepal shut the road leading back from Tibet to Kathmandu. I had to take a helicopter in order to make my international flight out of Kathmandu the next day. Otherwise, I would have missed it altogether. The helicopter ride cost $360.

Seven Corners refused to cover this, even though rebooking an international flight would have cost more (3 legs to the flight home). I sent receipts and supporting forms, including a letter from my tour company describing the situation.

    Seven Corners policy: RoundTrip

My claim was due to flight cancellations during ice storms in Atlanta. Instead of rescheduling via the airlines, I rented a car to drive to Florida to start a cruise. Even though technically I was required to take the next available flight, Seven Corners agreed that driving was the more reasonable approach and reimbursed me for all associated expenses.

I provided all documentation listed in the "How to File a Claim", section of their help screen.

Received a letter a while later asking that a death certificate be provided.

Am awaiting the receipt of that document from the state agency and will forward to Seven Corners when it arrives.

Seven Corners policy: Trip Protection Economy

Pleased because they paid my whole claim. However, communication from them could have been better. I never received confirmation that they received my claim, so I called a few weeks later to ask, and the representative told me it may take 3 weeks for them to start the claim, as if I should have known that.

Seven Corners policy: Trip Protection Choice

Since I do not have a claim to make, I am unable to say anything about the effectiveness and promptness of that process.

I did, however, feel "protected" by having purchased a policy, and that was a good feeling. When I was leaving Sri Lanka for a long flight home I was told that the plane was overbooked and that they had given my seat away for no reason. Since I was on time at the airport and had been waiting in line for my boarding pass along with others denied access to the flight, I was very upset but thought to myself - Thank goodness I have purchased the Travel Insurance. At the last minute a seat was found empty on the flight, but the whole thing was very upsetting.

As I recall the online purchasing process was not too complicated although I had some confusion about one or two of the elements of the policy and did get in touch with the online help line regarding that and their answer was helpful and came in a timely fashion. I did have some confusion also about what Squaremouth actually was and how it differed from the actual name of the company on the policy I finally purchased, but I did finally figure that out. Some additional clarification on that distinction in functions of the two organizations - Squaremouth and the actual insurance underwriter - might be helpful to other travelers.

    Seven Corners policy: RoundTrip

    To Whom it may concern,
I wish to thank the folks at SquareMouth for making the
purchase of my insurance policy a easy and simple matter. I was able to enjoy my trip. My concern was my health during
the time prior to my trip, but knowing I was insured put my mind at ease. I have referred others to your service.

    Thanks,
    Robert Fuentes

Seven Corners policy: Trip Protection Choice

All of my experiences with Seven Corners have been wonderful until I filed a claim. My claim was for medical care while I was in Greece. I don't understand why I have to file a claim with Medicare since "everybody" knows that Medicare does not cover care aboard a cruise ship that is more than 6 miles from US soil.

So, I have been required to file a claim with Medicare knowing full well that it is going to be denied. Doesn't make any sense to me.
