I've used you before and it was good. Seemed a fair price for the coverage.
This trip was canceled 2 days before my flight., on 2/29.
My trip was for 5 weeks in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Because of "travel alerts",
The PV airport being closed and my AA flight was canceled by AA, 5 hrs before
    take-off.
I did file a claim because no trip was taken, and couldn't be taken. but you charged me for it#
    Thank you the outcome

    My claim was denied

Seven Corners policy: Trip Protection Choice

I have been purchasing travel medical insurance through Squaremouth.com for several years and have consistently been satisfied with the coverage options offered. This is the first time I have needed to file a claim, and I did so with Seven Corners following an unexpected situation during a recent trip.
During our return journey, a fellow traveler — a close family friend — suffered a medical emergency that required the flight to make an emergency diversion to Canada. As his wife was unable to manage the situation and the associated logistics on her own, she asked me to deplane and assist them. I remained in Canada while my friend received the necessary medical treatment, including a surgical procedure. Once his condition had stabilized sufficiently, I arranged my return flight to Dallas-Fort Worth.
As a result of this unplanned stay, I incurred additional out-of-pocket expenses, including a one-way return flight and three nights of hotel accommodation in Canada.
I submitted my claim through the standard online portal. However, when I followed up by phone, the agent I spoke with was unable to assist and directed me to submit the claim via email at claims@sevencorners.com. I did so promptly, but two days later I received a response indicating that email submissions are not accepted and that I must use the online portal — which I had already done initially. The online submission process itself was straightforward, and I am currently awaiting a decision on my claim.
One area I would flag as potentially confusing for policyholders is the definition of "travel" within the policy. It was not immediately clear whether travel-related coverage refers specifically to medically necessitated travel or to general trip-related travel. Greater clarity on this distinction at the point of purchase would be helpful.

It took a little back and forth with insurance claim but once all documents were submitted, the claim was approved very promptly

We are currently waiting to hear from Seven corners insurance. Due to the conflict in the Middle East we were stranded for over 36 hours in Kolkata and we made a claim for a little under $300 for the hotel food and Uber ride from the airport. We are hoping that we did it correctly. I am sure they are backlogged due to the astronomical amount of flight cancellations in the last month.

I am hoping it is in process but we haven't received any information, It has only been a week since we submitted our claim. It is hard to do a review when the process isn't complete yet. The test will be if they cover the losses due to the cancelled flights and the extra days spent trying to get back home.

    Review Updated: 05/07/2026

The Experience: I purchased a Seven Corners policy via Squaremouth for a trip to India and Bhutan. When my March 18th flight was delayed by 31 hours, I provided a comprehensive evidence bundle to Seven Corners who denied the claim so I followed up with Squaremouth’s "Zero Complaint" team. Despite proving the delay was a commercial/operational failure, both Seven Corners and Squaremouth caved to a factually incorrect "War Exclusion."

The Trap: Using Stale Data to Deny Current Claims
The industry is currently using a "Super-Exclusion" to avoid paying legitimate claims. In my case, they cited an airspace closure notification from March 10th to deny a claim for a flight on March 18th.

The Reality: By March 18th, 90% of flights were operational. The airspace was physically open.

The Proof: Other flights on the exact same carrier (Etihad) flew the exact same path on the same day my original flight was supposed to have been flying. We eventually flew that exact same "closed" path on the 20th when the airline finally rebooked us.

The Technical Lie: Commercial Choice vs. Act of War
I provided Squaremouth with my reissued ticket, explicitly endorsed by the airline as an "INVOL REROUTE" using Commercial Waiver CW005-2026. The carrier officially classified this as a business disruption/logistical failure. Yet, Squaremouth’s "independent review" ignored the airline’s own commercial coding and accepted the insurer’s narrative that a conflict 2,000 miles away made the flight "impossible."

    The "Zero Complaint" Failure:
Squaremouth’s rejection letter was a "copy-paste" of the insurer's denial. They quoted the War Exclusion (Page 29, Exclusion 5) but refused to address the adjudication of fact: If the airspace was open and the airline coded the delay as a "Commercial Waiver," the War Exclusion is being misapplied to save the company money.

    The Verdict for Travelers:
Under these conditions, buying Trip Delay coverage is a total waste of money. (the more expensive Cancel for any reason policies wouldn't have covered this delay either because you aren't actually cancelling) If an insurer can use a regional headline from ten days prior to override a commercial delay on the day of travel, they will never pay a claim. They are using this "War" excuse for travelers stranded as far away as Europe.

If a "War Exclusion" can override a "Common Carrier Delay" even when the planes are physically flying, you aren't buying insurance—you’re donating a premium to a company that has no intention of honoring the contract.

My trip was Feb 22nd thru March 1st. Due to mechanical issues with Alaska Air my flight was cancelled. Alaska Air could not get me on a flight until Feb24th. (Trip Interruption). I have sent Seven Corners all the neccesary information for my claim. Not sure if the information is being read, but they keep asking for more of the same information. This is very frustrating! Not only was my trip interrupted but on March 1st my luggage did not make it from Kelowna Airport. I did not receive until March 5th.
Please expedite this. I am not sure if I would recommend this, have not had a very good experience.

I love that our coverage was automatically extended due to a flight delay at the end of our trip. Thankfully it was not needed, but good peace of mind nonetheless.

Claim was settled quickly and as expected.

I have been very disappointed at the handling of my claim. It was a simple airline-initiated missed connection that required a hotel stay. My friends on the same trip who used a different travel insurance broker have already recieved compensation on their claims. After almost 2 weeks, I have yet to get any resolution from Seven Corners.

Not happy with claim denial. First flight was diverted mid-air. Ended up having to purchase a separate return ticket on another airline due to Middle East airspace closures.

Filed claim to recoup cost of return tickets but claim denied to to “Act of War” clause.
