Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
I did file a claim for delayed luggage. They made the claim process very easy to start and download required documents. It was a very easy process and I received my claim within 2 weeks. It was truly hassle free. I just bought a new policy with them for an upcoming trip. I highly recommend.
I sent emails to tin leg om April 6 and April 21 as well as submitting a request via the portal a week or so later but have still not received a response to any of them. I don't know if my doctor sent the medical report to you yet - I sent you the letter that his doctor wrote before we knew that you required a special form. My husband had a flare-up of his COPD shortly before we were scheduled to leave for our cruise and we had to cancel. He was well when we booked the cruise last year, while we were on the cruise last year and purchased the policy a couple of days later.
I am trying to find out what other documentation I have to send to you. I submitted my claim online and thought that I would be able to view it on your portal but that is not possible and there is no way to check claim status online. I feel like I am sending my messages into a vacuum.
I bought a 'cancel for any reason' policy with coverage for pre-exisiting conditions and would like to know how far I am along in the claims process and what else you need from me.
Based on my claims experience so far, I would not recommend tin leg.

Great service
Customer service responded quickly and professionally. I am now waiting to be contacted by an interviewer about my claim. I filed the claim last Friday and have not heard from the interviewer yet. This delay concerns me. I chose TinLeg trip insurance in part because it had good reviews about timeliness of paying claims. I hope that is still true. It will be a major factor in whether I recommend this company to friends seeking trip insurance.
Easy to talk to and informative.
Tin Leg provides good coverage at a good price. When I made a mistake on the dates for my trip, customer service was prompt, professional, and helpful.

So much better than other trip insurance I've used, especially my last one with Road Scholar that took 85 days to decide I had a credit rather than a cash refund for missing an entire trip due to American Airlines taking 26 hours (not a misprint) to cancel my flight from Phoenix to London. I will definitely use Tin Log again.
I bought the insurance to cover a cruise that I had to cancel. I was able to transfer the policy to a different trip without any problem.
They helped me change the dates of my coverage and add coverage when I extended my trip.
