Tin Leg Travel Insurance Reviews

I've purchased travel insurance through Tin Leg in the past and have always been impressed with how easy it is to research the various policies and be able to select a policy that's perfect for our needs. Because we are both senior citizens, we needed a policy that would cover us in the event of an unforeseen medical problem.
That said, two weeks prior to our departure, my daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer. Not knowing whether she would need surgery in the immediate future, I called customer service to find out if our policy covered an illness of a family member. The lady I spoke with could not have been more sensitive to our needs and assured me that, yes, we indeed would be covered. She also said that I could cancel our trip prior to departure or, if necessary, we could cut our trip short and we would still be covered for any expenses incurred. What a relief!!!
Fortunately, my daughter had the surgery prior to our departure and is doing well ... and we were able to take our "trip of a lifetime" and enjoy every minute.

Overall experience was very good. We were told we needed to have this type of insurance for the type of trip we took. We secured the insurance online with the help of a CS representative.
The hope was we would never have to use it . Yea we didn’t have to use it.

We had to cancel our trip for medical reasons. The process for getting our claim paid was very straightforward, and the payment came through promptly.

The purchase of our travel insurance policy went very well and we were pleased with the competitive price and terms. We are in the process of getting a claim resolved. We have an interview scheduled via phone in early September and look forward to receiving compensation for our flight cancellation on July 31st.

My husband and I had to cancel our trip due an unanticipated medical issue. The claim process once I filed a claim was extremely smooth and quickly resolved without issue. This is my third policy with this company and I have given them a 5 star rating each time. Keep up the good work TinLeg.

I first heard about Tin Leg from my travel agent as I prepared for my trip. She said Tin Leg had an excellent reputation among her other clients for service -- as well as well as fair pricing for those of us 65+ (I am 72) .When I called for a quote, I was happily surprised by the price quoted -- which was $300. less than a company I have used before-- for the same coverage! That, plus the helpful friendly customer service, and the fact of its' Superior rating and being underwritten by Berkshire Hathaway , made it my obvious choice. I felt confident throughout my thrilling Rwanda adventure of climbing the Virunga mountains to be with the gorillas, that if anything happened , Tin Leg had me covered. Fortunately, all went perfectly well, and this was indeed THE ultimate trip of my lifetime!
