Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
Great experience to purchase policy
Easy to purchase.
Pricing reasonable
The documentation required was disorganized and repetitive--it seemed designed to make us want to give up on making a modest medical claim of less than $170. We were asked multiple times for the same documents, requested materials included our federal IDs, our flight documentation (to prove we had flown?) our credit card statements (to prove we had paid for a tour, and also to prove that we had not gotten a refund.) We did not cancel our trip; we merely asked to be reimbursed for a doctor visit and accompanying prescriptions while in Italy. Is this normal? I would say this insurance was easy to buy, but unnecessarily bureaucratic to file a claim with. Not sure we'll purchase again.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We regret that your claim was not resolved as swiftly as you hoped.
We had to adjust the dates of our travel with Tin Leg and customer service was helpful and efficient.
Not satisfied with misleading clauses and conditions that are not clearly advertised at time of purchase. Does not account for overnight travel inconveniences.
Thank you for your feedback. We’d like to help clarify your concerns. Please email your claim adjuster, and we’ll schedule a call to walk through your claim in more detail.
Evidently, there was a "prior condition" clause and a 60-day look back period that I missed during the application process I completed on my phone. It appears that Tin Leg isn't going to cover an unexpected condition resulting from surgery I had prior to the trip departure. We'll complete the lengthy claim process but expect to be denied coverage. I'll be sure to mention my experience on all my online reviews once the process is completed. I've already informed the trip planner who highly recommended Square Mouth.
We appreciate your feedback and understand your concerns about your active claim. Please reach out to your claim adjuster via email, and we’ll arrange a call to go over the details and answer any questions you have.
My trip departure and return dates changed because of the air carrier's last-minute travel changes, and I called Tin Leg customer service to make the adjustments to the policy. The customer service representative was attentive and courteous and quickly made the necessary adjustments. I did not file a claim under the policy, so I can't say anything about its dependability.
Nightmares… asking ridiculous amount of paperwork that is unreasonable.
I had read previous reviews that complained about having to submit so much documentation, but I felt everything requested was logical & necessary for substantiating the claim. I will reaffirm, it is very important to make sure all documentation is obtained at the time of the incident or soon after.
Once I filled out the claim form, and attached all documentation exactly as requested, my claim was processed and completed within two weeks. Full payment was received and I am extremely happy. Complaints of having to submit additional documents (or resend) to me is totally unfounded (most likely User error). I submitted the 5 requested documents the first time, it was no problem.
I will definitely use Squaremouth and the insurance they recommend again!
First, I'd like to say, I write VERY FEW reviews. Maybe 1 a year.
I purchased the Tin Leg Gold plan Travel Insurance through Square Mouth. Tin Leg delayed the process so badly that I have no doubt it is a tactic that people will throw in the towel. Was HORRIBLE!
I filed my claim on May 19th, after much promising, more info needed, delayed responses, inaccuracies, I have finally got approved for a FRACTION of what was due, on June 27th. I was only reimbursed for about what I paid for the insurance.
No meal, no toiletries, etc. Was HORRIBLE. BEWARE.
