Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
Claim for a significant amount processed and paid promptly and without any challenges. Very pleased!
I believe i may have changed cruises and when i notified indurance they modified policy promptly.
We had a flight cancellled (philippine airlines)for a duration of 25 hours causing us to miss a connecting flight with a different airline(Cebu Pacific). Philippine Airlines (PAL), ultimately brought in a special plane 25 hours later to transport all the passengers to Manila. Obviously, we missed our flight on Cebu Pacific the previous day. There was an additional motel bill involved as well. I provided a certification from PAL that the flight was cancelled. I also provided the Cebu Pacific itinerary proving I had bought the tickets for myself and wife. Obviously, we were not reimbursed from Cebu Pacific for missing one leg of a round trip ticket due to another airlines cancellation. I attempted to receive proof that I was not reimbursed, but Cebu Pacific would never reply to my emails confirming I did not take the flight. And as everyone knows, missing a connecting flight due to another airlines cancellation will never reimburse. Also, I did provide the receipt, visa statement, and ticket stubs for another airline ticket (I bought from PAL because cheaper and better time) for the flight we missed. Additionally, Tin Leg required "proof" that we were not reimbursed for the hotel on the night that we were unable to keep because of cancellation. The reservation had been made through Agoda and they would not even respond to my emails, less much reimburse us.
I provided more than adequate documentation to insure Tin Leg was fully aware as to what happened. Their requirements for proof of not receiving any credit from the airlines or hotel were impossible to meet. Obviously, they do not want to pay their clients, so they make it almost impossible to provide everything required. I diligently tried!! Our claim was for a measly $321 for both my wife and I.
I have used squaremouth many times in the past, but only once previously did I have a small claim due to a theft. Bottom line, I will never use Tin Leg again. I will think about using Squaremouth.
Thank you for your feedback. Your claim is still under review. Your claim examiner has been in touch via email and is available to assist with any questions.
Did not have to make a claim with trip insurance, that is the best news!
My claim is taking a long time and Tin Leg keeps asking for the same documents over and over even though I have sent them numerous times. I feel like they do not want to pay the claim and they are dragging their feet. I am not happy. I use square mouth twice a year but I do not know if I will use square mouth again.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we apologize for the frustration you have experienced.
To finalize your Trip Cancellation claim, we required specific proof of payment and rental car cancellation confirmation. While we have been in regular communication since you filed on February 2nd, the required documents were initially missing. Your claim adjuster is now completing a final review and will provide an update within 3-5 business days.
My trip was canceled due to medical issues with my traveling companion. I did not file a claim because my refund was only around $200. It did not seem reasonable to ask a physician to take the time to fill out all of the detailed medical claim forms for such a small return. It would be helpful to have a simplified claim process for small claims, perhaps a return of premium when the claim is less than the premium?
Very easy to buy the policy and clarify some questions I had with customer service.
I had a question about the problem of not getting admitted in a hospital in the Philippines if we don't have enough cash with us to pay the down payment for a critical emergency situation like heart attack or stroke or any time sensitive medical emergencies. Most of the time, we don't carry that huge amount of money while we are on the beach or restaurant or in the Church, or we don't have that amount of money at all. Tin Leg responded in a timely manner but, I didn't get a concrete answer on how to cover this unfortunate hospital problems in the Philippines. I wish that there is a wallet size piece of certificate we can carry all the time wherever we go that will be acceptable to any hospitals as a guaranty to the them that they will get paid. That's all they need over there, that they'll have the assurance that "they will get paid". But if they're on doubt, they don't care, they will not admit the patient even if they'll die in few seconds, and that makes the travel insurance useless in the Philippines in a life & death situation upon arrival in a hospital there. I hope you understand our situation that we need an assurance of getting admitted in an emergency anywhere in the world, because we love traveling. Thanks for your time and effort to improve your service.
I had initial problems reaching the right agent to help me. Once I did, things went fine. One agent I talked to totally dismissed me saying nothing would be done until I returned home from my trip. Through email I did get help to complete the claim process and for that I am happy as it was completed prior to my return.
Great customer service thus far. I was injured during a cruise on Sunday, January 26, in St. Lucia. I contacted customer service that night for answers about coverage and about medical assistance etc. I was given information and a number to Contact to submit my claim for reimbursement of medical expenses and losses at a future time. I was also given a 24 hour assistance number in case that was needed as well.I am hopeful that Tin Leg will take care of that expeditiously. At this point I have no reason to believe they won’t. I have not submitted the claim or information however, primarily because I am waiting for a doctors report.
