Customer service was helpful in assisting me in picking the best policy for my needs
The customer representatives is spoke with were very help in pointing me to the Tinleg.com website to file a claim. I spoke with different people but Tim pointed me in the right direction.
Your agents are always helpful and take time to help us find the best policies for our trips.
On the day of departure I remembered that my return flight had had to be changed after National Geographic Tours had cancelled part of our vacation but that I had forgotten to change the date of our return on the policy. Although the first agent I spoke with said nothing could be done as I had called on the day of departure, I had requested a callback and when I received that call the new agent asked for proof of the cancellation and a copy of the new itinerary. I provided those and was informed two days later that the insurance had been extended to cover the new return date (5 days later than the original). Although the insurance was not invoked as the trip went smoothly, the time extension was appreciated. Two thoughts--thanks for the service and also, make sure to speak with a supervisor and do not simply accept the decision rendered by the first agent one talks with.
I attempted to file a small claim due to a travel delay. Tin Leg responded promptly and indicated that because the delay was less than 6 hours, the claim would not be covered.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I’m sorry to hear about the delay you encountered during your trip. We understand how frustrating travel disruptions can be, and we strive to provide clear guidance on what is covered under your policy.
Based on the policy details, coverage for travel delays begins once the delay reaches the minimum threshold listed in the Schedule of Benefits, which is 6 hours. Since your delay was under this timeframe, the claim did not meet the criteria for coverage. We encourage you to review the policy documents, as they outline these time-based requirements to help avoid any delays or extra work in filing a claim in the future. We understand that your time is valuable.
If you have any additional questions or would like further clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We're here to assist you.
I have an interview with Tin Leg rep 10/1 am.
When train delayed and need find a way to conntiouse find way to home and find it is useless to buy this insurance .
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we apologize for the frustration you have experienced.
I have reviewed your Tin Leg Economy policy certificate.
Travel Delay reimburses the costs of meals and accommodations when a trip is unexpectedly delayed. Your policy’s Travel Delay required that your trip had to be delayed at least 12 consecutive hours from the scheduled gate departure time due to a covered reason. Mechanical breakdown of a common carrier or inclement weather are the most common covered reasons for Travel Delay.
Easy to book policy. I had to move my vacation to a later date. I called support and they were able to change the policy to reflect my new dates for a small charge.
A good experience.
I didn't make a claim so cannot comment on that side of things
We have used them for several trips. They are competitively price and the customer services is fantastic.
