Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
So far, so good. I had an initial telephone call with Tin Leg and will be filing my claim shortly.
After much research I purchased trip insurance from Tin Leg for a trip to the British Virgin Islands in early November 2017. Unfortunately the destination resort was severely damage by hurricane Irma forcing us to cancel our trip. At the time of cancellation we did not have a lot of non-refundable money tied up in the trip, mainly air fare. The airline refunded all but about $400 of the fare. I filed a claim for the unreimbursed amount. The claim process was very simple and easy. There was a representative in touch with me by phone and email from the start. Tin Leg let me know what support documentation I needed to provide. I provided the information and within a few weeks I received a check for the amount of the claim. I could not have been more pleased with the process and the excellent service. I will definitely use Tin Leg again for my next trip and will recommend them to my family and friends.
This company did more for me than even I know. I fell on the plane and had problems with the airlines and the hospital trying to get a release to fly to my destination. Some where along the line after calling their emergency line things began to happen. What they did I am not sure, but that one call did it and I did not feel so helpless any more. I can not thank them enough for their help and assistance. I have used them before and again their service was excellent.
I called them just to clarify the coverage and they helped me understand the coverage I was considering purchasing. It was painless and I wouldn't hesitate to go through Squaremouth to purchase travel insurance in the future. Tin Leg was very good about taking time to talk to me.
This was the third time that we purchased the travel insurance and unfortunately had to cancel our trip to a medical emergency.
The claim process was very straight forward and easily done.
Would recommend this company to anyone that wants to travel worry free.

Winds up my out of pocket expenses for the changes I was required to make were minimal so not worth filing a claim for. But it sure was nerve wracking wondering if our trip was going to happen, so having the insurance available sure provided peace of mind..
So far everyone has been helpful and courteous
Tin Leg, despite the strange name, provided me with all needed information to make my decision, and no pressure. this was a first experience in purchasing travel insurance. Given my age, the length of my solo travel, and some minor political instability in one nation I was traveling to, the insurance was a support.
I was a second person covered on the Tin Leg policy. I incurred food poisoning during the trip due to food which I consumed at the hotel. I requested that hotel contact US physician who verified that symptoms were due to food poisoning. He also stated medication and dosage required to treat symptoms. The UK physician apparently had difficulty locating medication and dosage was lower that US physician stated I would require. Medication was given to me on the evening prior to departure home. When I returned home diarrhea symptoms continued and I required medication at dosage which US physician said I would require. Although prescription was only $10.00 Tin Leg would not reimburse for this cost because they stated it was after trip date. Tin Leg is reimbursing me for costs for the hotel to contact a physician on call to the hotel. A medication was prescribed which I assume the hotel covered as they did not bill me. My concern with this is that if an injury would have occurred within trip date but then surpassed those dates would the injury and expenses have been covered?.
