Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
I have been very pleased with my experience using Tin Leg. Unlike another insurer, I had no difficulty contacting them while overseas. This gave me confidence that my claim would be handled properly once I returned to the US. Their claim process is simple and efficient. Being able to submit all the documentation online was very helpful and confirmations are sent immediately. I would definitely consider using Tin Leg for another trip and would recommend using their services to other travelers.

My claim was handled very efficiently and within the time frame stated. Payment was delivered very quickly with a full description of the calculation. When I brought to their attention that one of the expenses incurred had not been included in the initial calculation, they quickly issued a second check.
I had insurance with Tin Leg for a trip that started out flying from Tampa. When I was in NY for the summer IRMA came into Florida . I called Tin Leg Customer Service to see if I would be covered if I couldn't back to Florida in time for my Tampa flight. I left a message BUT NEVER RECEIVED a call back. Turns out I was able to get to Tampa in time for the flight but sure would have been nice to hear from Tin Leg. I've got another trip insured by Tin Leg in January but will not be using them for any other trips.
Hi Kevin
You contacted us with a question about your coverage and we did not get back to you. Calls pertaining to coverage are very important to us so I sincerely apologize that, in this instance, we let you down.
Your feedback has prompted us to make changes and train additional agents so that this doesn’t happen again.
If you have any questions, will be delighted to speak with you by phone at any time. You can reach me at 844-240-1233.
Some of the documentation required to file a claim with Tin Leg was uncalled for and confusing. I was filing for one hundred dollar doctor's visit in Germany. I can understand Tin Leg needing proof of the visit with the invoice and maybe proof of my airline ticket to my destination but beyond that it is just a lot of red tape to discourage the insured from making a claim. Could not get a straight answer as to exactly what documentation they wanted. I flew on five different airlines. Do they really need proof of my travels after the doctor's visit? Why? I did not keep my boarding passes because this seemed unnecessary so is not my airline email confirmation good enough? Wasted much time making phone calls and emails. My time is worth more then this claim.
We had to cancel our entire trip due to a medical issue. Brandi, on the Claims Team, answered all of my questions and helped make the process less difficult and stressful. I will be using Tin Leg again and have recommended the company to other travelers.
It was easy to contract with an insurance company and get the coverage I desired. As I had no claims to file I cannot comment on service .
How do I file a claim. Because of water conditions and rail connections we could not go to a Hotel we already
paid for. Is this enough for a claim? The hotel was the Hotel Bonadies for th the e night of Sept. 12.
I have the Travelocity voucher confirming this.
Selection, purchase and payment went smoothly. No issues. One call to Customer Service to clarify something. Have used you before and will again!
Go with a reputable travel insurance company. Learned my lesson the hard way.
Scheduled interview did not happen, had to reschedule and notify TinLeg that its employee didn't call me.
I don't see a need for an interview, necessarily. I had all my documents/receipts, and could have just filed them, rather than do an interview where someone else typed in my personal information, and then sent it to me (along with a seperate email 5 minutes later saying my claim wasn't complete because I hadn't submitted documents). I should just be able to file my claim and supporting evidence, and have an interview scheduled if necessary.
I did have my small claim paid, but it could have been easier. Mostly, don't make me schedule a time for an interview, then don't actually call me after I've arrangement my schedule.
My wife became sick the day before we were supposed to leave. So we did not go on our trip
