When I had questions about the claim form, Travelex answered the phone immediately and was able to answer my questions. My claim was processed quickly, and my reimbursement arrived shortly thereafter.

They put me in touch with their medical team which was very helpful and continued to reach out to me until things were resolved. Great customer service! Definitely recommend the policy!

Insurer is using delay tactics not to pay claim timely. Flight to destination was canceled. Missed first hotel night due to cancellation. Provided proof flight was canceled and proof of new flight. Insurer is asking for proof that we didn’t use the first hotel night for a hotel in a different country! Similarly, insurer is asking for proof we didn’t get refunded for missed hotel night. I sent the cancellation policy. We didn’t seek a reimbursement since we were well past cancellation. How do I provide proof of something i didn’t do?

While the claim process was unnecessarily painful with insurance asking for nonsensical documentation (proof I didn’t spend a night in an accommodation in another country, where I couldn’t possibly have been given my flight was canceled), the claim ultimately was paid. Note that in a previous review where I was complaining about the nonsense regarding burden of proof and delay tactics around handling of my claim, Travelex responded with “Zurich American Insurance Company is the claim administrator for the policy your purchased. Travelex does not make claim determinations.” This is a little too easy, Travelex. I purchased my plan with you; not Zurich, so the least you can do instead of hiding behind that excuse is to take some responsibility and accountability for your underwriters’ claim handling process.

Zurich American Insurance Company is the underwriter and Zurich Travel Claims Administration (“Zurich”) is the claim administrator for the policy you purchased. Travelex does not make claim determinations.
