Travelex customers often praise the helpful and easily accessible customer service. However, some travelers feel the provider could offer more updates during the claims process, and that reimbursements can take longer than expected.
This is the second time that I have had a trip interruption situation and had to file a claim with Travelex. Both times, my claim was handled quickly, and I recouped the amount I requested. Their service is really 5 Star.
They are not the lowest cost insurance, but it is worth the small amount extra to get insurance that pays when necessary.
I suggest: Notify Travelex via email as soon as your problem occurs. Keep all your receipts, of course. If the only thing you have to prove your claim is messages to your phone, keep screen saves. Keep boarding passes to prove your flight changed. Print your VISA bill and highlight charges. They will need records, but they accept the sort of things I just mentioned.
Related to a different trip, I contacted Travelex and another company with questions before choosing my policy. I asked them what would be paid if I had to cancel a cruise that I planned to purchase with vouchers plus cash. Travelex clearly explained what would be paid and also what documentation I would need. The other company did not explain what documentation I would need. Knowing that ahead of time is very important.

I have been assigned a claim agent and after returning home have left a message but awaiting to hear from her.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company (“BHSIC”) is the underwriter and claim administrator for the policy you purchased. Travelex does not make claim determinations. We have contacted BHSIC and have been advised that the claim examiner requested proof of payment for the expense incurred.
Documentation was received on 3/16/2024 and is in the que to be reviewed, the claim examiner is going to reach out to answer any questions you might have and let you know your documentation was received and will be reviewed.
It is important to remember that insurance is highly regulated, and documentation is required, for any claim.

My wife and I are very, very pleased with Travelex insurance and plan to use them for our next cruise in May.
When I accessed my policy to print it prior to departure, I noticed the program had auto-filled my name in the space for the additional insured, but her birth date was still correct. This was on a Friday night. Upon calling Travelex, I found they were closed until Monday morning, by which time I would already be traveling. I sent them an email, then called Square mouth and left a message. Squaremouth called me back first thing the next morning. They had listened to my message and understood the problem. They immediately changed my confirmation but told me Travelex would have to change the policy. On Monday, I was already at my destination and had not heard from Travelex, other than receiving an email that said they'd get back to me in 7-10 working days. I called. Travelex rep said they would need documentation to prove the other insured was traveling, so I sent that. Got another email saying 7-10 working days. The next week we were getting ready to come home and still no corrected policy. Called again. Rep said to be patient. I responded this was not what I expected from a top rated company. Finally received the corrected policy later that afternoon. Definitely would not do business with this company again. Oh and I forgot to mention, one of the Travelex reps told me emphatically that I could not have bought the policy through Squaremouth because that was another insurance company

The customer service representative was very pleasant on the phone when I called to change my travel dates.
Customer service was very helpful and courteous.
Claim was properly handled, we received the expected medical expenses refund in a relatively short timeframe, and the process was relatively straightforward and painless. Worked better than I was expecting. Feedback from them could have been better, though. When I sent my first email asking about submitting a claim, I got an automated reply right away to confirm they got it, and got a reply the next day explaining the claims process to be followed by email. That was all good. But after sending the claim details by email that same day, I never heard back from them till more than a month later. There was no automated reply, nor any confirmation they were processing the claim. When I wrote more than 3 weeks later to ask about it, I just got the automated reply and no actual reply. But the week after that, we got a separate email confirming the result of the claim, and then around a week later we got the refund in the mail. All in all a good experience, but they should provide better feedback during the claim processing procedure.
