Trawick customers appreciate the value for money offered by the policies and the ease of modifying them before a trip. However, some travelers report difficulty reaching customer service, particularly after filing a claim.
In the past, I had purchased several travel insurance protections with Trawick International and their prices are reasonable and much lower than their competitors. Though I haven’t had any claims so far, for me, having this protection gives me peace of mind when I travel.
My husband got covid towards the end of the trip. I was informed that a positive PCR test would be required by the insurance company to substantiate that he was positive. The insurance company paid for everything except the PCR tests for me and my husband. I wrote to NW Travel Claims and they never responded. This is not very good customer service in my opinion.
Customer service in advance of the trip was helpful in answering questions. We did not need to file a claim once on the trip
trip was cancelled due to war in Israel, I forwarded everything we received from the trip group over 2 months ago, and I still haven't received my refund. All I get is messages saying more information is needed. What more information do they need, there is a war in Israel, and the trip was cancelled. I sent all the emails from the travel group, along with the receipts for the payments made for the trip.
I was very disappointed in the process. I purchased the insurance through a reference of the place I was going to stay. When I called and ask if the policy would cover hurricanes the customer Service agent said yes. To my surprise when I filed the claim it was denied because the storm had been forecasted when I cancel the trip! I cancelled due to a hurricane coming and island being closed/evacuated because it was going to be flooded due to storm surge,
I have limited experience so far - I would be happy to comment after I go through the claims process.
I had a 24-hour travel delay due to a canceled flight. I made a claim for 1 day of pre-paid expenses at my destination plus an expense not reimbursed by the airline. Trawick sent a check for the full amout I requested, about 5 weeks after I submitted the claim. It was A LOT of documents to upload to make the claim. I'll use them for my next trip, and Squaremouth was easy to use.
The downside is that the website Trawick uses to track claims (cbpconnect.com) never updated, so I did not know what was going on. Minus1 star for that.
I called to terminate the policy before it’s expiration because I ended the trip earlier. The customer service was very professional and cancelled the policy during the calll and told me the refund will be processed. I did received the refund back to my card used for the original payment in a week or so. The only thing I can think of to improve the customer experience is to provide a confirmation number to the customer so that the record can be tracked easily in the system if the first call couldn’t resolve all the issues.
We needed to have insurance as we were traveling to Egypt as the Israeli-Hamas war was going on. We secured the insurance well in advance. We were comfortable knowing if we had to cancel due to a State Dept terror alert our trip cost would be covered. We also needed the medical insurance as Medicare does not cover you when you are out of the country. fortunately we did not experience any interruption to our trip either on the airline or during the 12 days of our trip.
Claim was handled fairly promptly and accurately. The only negatives: the online function for some reason did not work and I had to fill in and scan the claim; also, other documentation was requested that really was included in the first information I sent, thus delaying the process, although not substantially
