Trawick customers appreciate the value for money offered by the policies and the ease of modifying them before a trip. However, some travelers report difficulty reaching customer service, particularly after filing a claim.
When i called the emergency assistance outside usa number (after a positive covid test), the agent basically just said to submit the claim in due course, that i could submit a claim online or via email, and that i could get the necessary forms online. I did not realize until this point that Squaremouth is an umbrella under which there is a group of providers, under which there is an underwriter, and that I would have to claim not with squaremouth, not with trawick international, but with nationwide. Phew! that's complicated, especially when one is ill and 70 years old!!
I'll welcome the chance to report how the actual claim goes as I tackle that substantial amount of effort to complete.
Thank you for your review and feedback. We apologize for the confusion on all of this! I spoke with the claims team and they advised that a claim form was sent to the email we have on file for you on 2/7, and as of 2/18 they have not yet received it back, so are not able to begin processing it. Please check your inbox for an email from NWTravClaims@cbpinsure.com and let us know if you need anything else on it. The phone number to call regarding your claim is 1-888-352-3169. Thanks so much.

Travel insurance is fraud - don't waste your money. You can never contact them - you can never talk to a human being to make a claim - the website you are directed to doesn't recognize your policy number. This was the first and last time I will ever buy travel insurance.
Trawick responsiveness has been unacceptable. I waited hours to try to get to someone several times about claim status. You should reconsider your partnership with them.
Some communication of the claims process would be very helpful so that I know that my claim has been received and is being processed. I've had to reach out several times to the Customer Service email to get some communication.
How long is the Refund process? When can I expect my refund? How is it refunded to me?
Very easy and got help with the question I had in a very efficient timeframe.
Too soon to comment.
I called CS to ask about the physician documentation requirement in the event a claim was filed due to medical reason. The policy specifically states “Physician”, but my family ***’s are a nurse practitioner and physician assistant. Originally I was told it had to be a medical doctor. After asking the CS rep to please check and verify that was correct, I was then told a PA and/or NP would be sufficient.
We got the insurance specifically because of Covid. When we got to the airport, we needed to go for a covid test as Belize will not let you in unless you test negative for covid. My husband, who never had any symptoms, tested positive. In disbelief he tested a second time, again positive. At this point, as I have never actually used the travel insurance I have bought in the past, I started making phone calls to cancel stuff. I called Trawick and they told me even though my husband had a certified positive test result that he would need a doctor's note. I personally found that ridiculous, but ok. Since the airport we fly out of is 4 hours from our home, we returned the following day. I called Trawick again to get some more information and they proceed to tell me that if the resort and/or flights offered any credit for future use that the policy is null and void! This was a group trip that 6 of us had planned for, the other 4 people were able to go. I have no idea when or if we could do this trip again. We had some a room that we reserved as a group, how do I do that again if the others already went? And I couldn't cancel that room as the others still went. I was extremely upset that even if I waited for the credit to expire, that I still could not file a claim. I am really wondering what the point of the insurance was, when it said if you have to cancel for covid it is 100% refundable, well that was BS. So needless to say, not too happy.
