Trawick customers appreciate the value for money offered by the policies and the ease of modifying them before a trip. However, some travelers report difficulty reaching customer service, particularly after filing a claim.
We were unable to submit claim via website or use chat function. Submitted claim via email and have gotten no response in past couple of weeks.
Unfortunately, we had to cancel our trip due to illness in September 2024. All contact with Trawick/Surego has been since filing a claim and over a period of almost 5 months. Many calls were made to Trawick requesting a progress update on our claim..........representatives were pleasant but each told us a different story about where the claim was and what, if any, progress was being made. The claim was either with the "expediting" team, a supervisor, or "in the back room" . There was never any concrete or factual information. Out of frustration, we filed a complaint with Squaremouth in February 2025 and this process is starting. We will be verrrrry careful from whom we buy travel insurance in the future. I'm sure you have many other claims involving Trawick.
I filed a claim one months ago, but have not heard anything from the company.
Squaremouth was fine and followed up but the carrier was so stringent that I would never use them again. We did not get resolution to a very small $200 medical claim. I have no further documentation so I can't go any further. Very disappointed
I have been working on my claim with Trawick since Sep 2024. I finally got to speak with someone who could help me decipher what documents they need to process my claim. Mari McIver was so helpful and patient, which was a pleasant experience. The Trawick reps have no information and are of no help. In the 5 or so calls that I've had with them, they just keep repeating 'send an email'.
I'm very happy I reached Mari and I'm looking forward to resolving this claim. I would recommend Squaremouth but I would not recommend Trawick as the actual provider. There are many other options when selecting a provider.
I almost didn't file a claim because it was only for $208 for a visit to the Carnival Cruise Line's medical center when my son got ill the night we were returning to Miami. I was certain there would be a long process and waiting period while they worked with my primary health insurance and would need to wait for all types of different documentation to go through. I was pleasantly surprised when a check for the full amount showed up in the mail less then two weeks after I submitted the claim. I don't think I'll every take a major trip without travel insurance again.

I have sent in the required documents and I am awaiting resolution

We selected Trawick International as our insurance provider for an intended trip to Ecuador. Three days prior to departure, my father-in-law passed away (a covered event under the policy). We were fortunate to have insurance coverage for death of a family member.
On or about November 25, I submitted the required paperwork. I have continued to follow-up with Trawick, only to be given vague answers as to the status of our claim. Comments to the effect that the claims examiners are behind because of all the recent hurricanes, and that claims are taking anywhere from 60-90 days to process. I was not able to speak with a claim's directly, although I did try on several occasions. (I have made notes on each of our telephone calls, and would be willing to share that with SquareMouth should they desire).
Finally, today, January 17, I received my first e--mail correspondence from Surego (the claims processing unit of Trawick). They suggested I needed to provide to them with a breakdown from our tour operator as to the expenses. I re-sent the initial booking confirmation showing what was included, what was excluded and the total of the tour. The tour agency did not provide a "breakdown". (Which I would suspect would be no different if I requested information from a Cruise Line or other tour operator providing a tour).
The lack of communication provided by Trawick is unacceptable. The timing to get to this point is also unacceptable. I have asked Trawick to contact me via phone so that we can discuss directly - I remain cautiously optimistic that this issue will get resolved to my satisfaction, however at this point I am not holding out hope.
I have used SquareMouth several times to secure travel insurance. I have recommended them to many of my friends as well. I understand that this issue is not directly with SquareMouth, however I will be more diligent when selecting our next travel insurance provider.

All is fine until you have to make a claim. I made my initial claim on or about November 25, 2024. I uploaded all the required documents per Trawick's instructions.
I continually followed up with Trawick, wanting confirmation that all documents were received, and was never able to get an answer. They continually advised of how busy they were. Once my claim was assigned to a claim's examiner, I asked to speak with that person directly. I was told they don't have phones. I was also advised that current claims were taking either, 30, 60 or 90 days - depending on when/who I talked to.
I was very thankful that SquareMouth provides Zero Complaint. I did contact SquareMouth on January 17 and with their assistance, was finally able to get resolution and claim was satisfied on February 4th.
Trawick showed no urgency and was lacking on customer service.
We will continue to use SquareMouth in purchasing travel insurance - but will NOT consider Trawick as provider.

About the Proof of Cancellation/Refund $559.91:
I didn't make any cancelation refund request to the airline, since I was unable to travel due some medical conditions named at the Physician's Statement (see attachment included). Besides, I was cover by an Insurance Travel which includes a travel cancelation due sickness. Also, the ticket wasn't refundable.
At the attachment Claim Insurance Travel A, you could read that I waved to make any future claims to the airline.
I already have sent to you the Travel Ticket Receipt paíd in cash.
I hope this time everything have been clarified. I have received and answered several emails about this claim.
Please, make a final determination about this claim, with the documents and information already sent.
