Trawick offers six comprehensive travel insurance policies through Squaremouth, each designed to provide different levels of coverage to suit various travel needs. Trawick customers appreciate the value for money offered by the policies and the ease of modifying them before a trip. However, some travelers report difficulty reaching customer service, particularly after filing a claim.
Mailed claim to Tampa address for Nationwide on Wed., Jan. 8, 2025 after calling the customer service number on or about January 2, 2025, the lady answering the customer service number sent the claim application documents to me via email. I had an appointment with my physician on January 8, 2025, and I took the physician's statement from your claim form to him and he completed it while I was at his office and I mailed the completed application on that same day. We have traveled on several international trips with different travel insurance companies purchased through SquareMouth. This is the worse travel insurance company that we have dealt with. Do not purchase a travel insurance policy from Trawick International. We submitted two separate claims for trip delay and baggage delay. Together both of these claims would be under $1,000.00. I can't imagine dealing with Trawick on a substantial claim under this policy.
The baggage delay claim was never acted on by Trawick until after we had filed a formal complaint with the Idaho Department of Insurance. At that point Trawick finally acknowledge it was a valid claim and that there was coverage under the policy. This should have ended the matter except Trawick pointed to language in a completely different policy than we had purchased in determining the amount of coverage, effectively reducing our benefits in half. After months of delay and having to go to the time and effort to file a formal complaint it is bad faith on the part of any insurance company to finally admit coverage and then rely on a policy language from a different policy to reduce the benefits.
The trip delay claim was addressed by Trawick before any formal complaint had to be filed against them. Our trip had two significant delays, the first was a late departure from Boise, Idaho for a connecting flight in Denver, Colorado. Trawick relied solely on this delay in denying coverage since the delay did not exceed 12 hours. They never addressed the delay that occurred when we eventually reached Frankfurt, Germany and were unable to get a flight to our final destination of Salzburg, Austria, until approximately 30 hours later. This delay would be covered under our policy but it was never addressed by Trawick even though extensive documentation was submitted in support of the claim.
Based on our experience we would hope that Trawick not be recommended as a reputable insurance company provider by SquareMouth.
I have sent at least three emails regarding the status of my claim that no one from your company has responded to. I called approximately two weeks ago and was told that because of the storms in Florida and North Carolina you were running behind processing claims. I would like to know the status of my claim. Thank you
I submitted my claim and then received an email requesting that I submit additional documents. I had already submitted most of those additional documents, but I re-submitted them as requested. Other than that, the claims process has been straight-forward and I am waiting for a response.
We unfortunately had to cut our trip short because of an accident my husband had where he broke his wrist. We could not continue our tour.
I made a claim beginning on Oct 2 while still in Europe with additional paperwork and online claim completed on Oct 11, 2024. I have still not received any communication directly from Trawick. I had to call after 1 month, around Nov 11 after seeing that my claim had not moved in the pipeline. I was told it was then being expedited and would take another month. On Dec 27, 2024, I called customer service again who agreed it still had not been looked at but would expedite to another group with expected update in 22 days. This all seems like a delay tactic. I am very disappointed with the service provided. Please help me with getting my claim paid. Our expenses are all legit. Currently I would not recommend Trawick as a travel insurance provider.
I was suffering from jet lag so did not read policy. I erroneously thought I would get $100 for baggage delay but did not purchase anything during 27 hour delay. I was not given any $ but it would have been nice for them to inform me of that and why instead of just ignoring my claim.
Claim has been filed. Awaiting approval and reimbursement.
Everything is good — only had a small medical claim — bug bites from a beach excursion
Trawick did settle my claim in less than 3 weeks. I was given the entire amount I requested, with no issues. My only complaint was the online, 3rd party portal that was provided for submitting the claim online, simply didn't work (It didn't recognize my policy number). Thus I had to send an email with my documentation attached to the email address that was provided. I have used an online portal for claims with other travel insurers. I feel the whole flow of the claim submission process works better if you are being asked to upload the requisite documentation as you input the requested data. Otherwise, I am happy with the outcome of the claim process and the policy was a good value overall compared to other travel insurers I have used.
We always buy travel insurance for our trips outside the US and use Squaremouth to make the purchase. Squaremouth allow us to compare policies and prices to get the coverage we want at a price we find appropriate. On our most recent trip, our return flight was diverted to another airport causing us to miss a connecting flight. The next available flight was the next day, so we had to book a hotel room for the night. Since the missed connection was covered by our Trawick International policy, I contacted their Customer Service department. The representative was very friendly and professional. She provided the link needed to submit my claim online. The process was relatively easy. I received a followup email requesting various documents, which I provided. It has only been one day since I emailed the documents to them so it is too early to evaluate. I believe I would use Trawick International again for my travel insurance needs.
