Trawick customers appreciate the value for money offered by the policies and the ease of modifying them before a trip. However, some travelers report difficulty reaching customer service, particularly after filing a claim.
The reason for my negative review is that this company did not provide any assistance with my claim made as a result of the bankruptcy of American Queen and the cancellation of this trip. I submitted a claim for trip cancellation and instead of Trawick’s honoring that contract, I was instructed to dispute the charge through the credit card provider. Now I have started the process to recover the premium, because the company did not honor its commitment. I will be making an effort to advise as many people as possible through social media to avoid purchasing from this company.

I would not recommend this company and would advise anyone who is contemplating purchasing travel insurance to avoid using them.
Only experience I have is speaking with a customer rep regarding submission of a claim. The customer rep was very helpful and professional. I have not received any feedback yet regarding the claim.
Departing on our trip we encountered numerous flight delays and cancellations which resulted in us arriving 12 1/2 late to our destination. Our luggage did not arrive until five days later. We called Trawick for information and were emailed a form to complete. We did not have access to a computer until we returned from our trip on May 27th. Sent the completed claim form this past Friday. We needed information from Viking on exactly when our luggage was received and their Insurance Dept was sending the information directly to Trawick/Nationwide. I plan to call and follow with up Trawick this week to confirm that they received all our information to process the claim in a timely manner. The person we spoke with at Trawick was not very friendly.
Review Updated: 07/09/2024
We had a luggage delay claim. According to the dec page there was a $400 max per person. However on their EOB the explanation did not make sense. I called the Claim Department and was placed on hold for 20 minutes. When I spoke with a representative, Charlene, she again had to place me on hold and the explanation she gave didn’t make sense. We were shorted $16 for the articles we needed before our luggage was delivered. We were missing a receipt but did provide a copy of our credit card statement. When questioned she just said we could file a complaint. So for $16 it didn’t seem work my time and effort. In the future I will not choose this carrier or recommend to anyone. Not a good experience.
We made a claim for a refund on a tour in Croatia because one of us had a medical emergency a few days before we left the US for the tour.
We mailed in our claim along with a doctor's statement and it was approved. We received our total refund in about 3 weeks. They did not have to contact us for any additional information. We were pleased with the way Trawick International handled it.
I’m having difficulty with filling a claim. Please help
I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Trawick Intermational. During my trip, I lost my backpack containing my ipad, electronic keyboard, apple pen, earrings, prescription glasses, and more, all of which I assumed would be covered under my policy. Unfortunately, I discovered too late that electronics were not covered.
Despite this, I feel that the company made me go through an extensive and tedious claims process, requiring me to provide detailed information, including pictures and descriptions of the lost items. After all the effort I put into gathering and submitting the required documentation, the company denied my claim covering only $250 and to date, I have not received any communication or a check.
The lack of transparency and communication is unacceptable. I feel misled and let down by this company, and I would caution others to thoroughly review their policies and be prepared for a frustrating experience should they need to file a claim. I will not be using Trawick International again in the future.

They paid the claim and didn't ask for additional information. But, it did take 5 weeks after the claim was made to get payment. It's a little tricky to figure out how to get in touch with them to check on the status of a claim. But, all in all professional.
It was a waste of money. Won’t do it again and won’t recommend it to others. I’ll share this experience on social media so other travelers may benefit from this unfortunate experience.
Claim 201450 was denied. Trawick stated that this is a pre-existing condition for Annamae's pancreatic cancer.
FINAL DIAGNOSIS: PAMCREAS, HEAD MASS, ENDOSCOPIC ULTRASOUND GUIDED BIOPSY: ADENOCARCINOMA. EXB/EXB COMMENT: This case was reviewed in conjunction with the concurrent cytology case MYC24-167 Pathologist: Evan Baker, M.D. **Report Electronica By Pathologist: Evan Baker, M.D. 2/23/2024 16:28 My signature is attestation that I have personally reviewed the submitted material(s) and the final diagnosis reflects that evaluation.
We bought the insurance from Squaremouth on 2/17/2024, effective 2/18/2024. Annamae had a Final Diagnosis on 2/23/2024. We still had all intentions to go on the cruise. Annamae had surgery on 3/04/2024 and has been receiving chemo after the surgery. Both the surgeon and her oncologist indicated the she could not travel. Why do you buy insurance to protect your family and have Trawick decline insurance based on what Trawick interprets as a pre-existing condition. Until a Final Diagnosis on 2/23/2024 was determined, Annamae did not have cancer. Trawick says it was pre-existing. No compassion what so ever for the client. I hope that Trawick feels very good about their decision to not honor a Pancreatic cancer claim.
