I filed a claim back in March 2023 for trip interruption and baggage delay, right after I got back from the trip. It was filed with full supporting documentation as instructed. Other than an automated confirmation email advising me they had received my claim and that it might take some time due to the volume of claims received, I did not receive any communication from them as to the claim and payment status. After waiting more than six months, I contacted them by phone in mid September 2023 and was told that they had not completed the claim review process. A few days later I got an email saying that they had concluded their review and that payment would be sent out. I finally received a check in early October 2023. The check did include a small payment for interest.
The actual policy was thru Nationwide. I had 2 dif policies, one for each state the travelers were from. We were a family of 9 traveling for dads birthday . He got covid the day before we were to fly to the cruise port. We cancelled all 9 of us. The policies covered all costs. We were fully reimbursed.
Only complaint is the process communication was thru email, mostly automated responses, infrequent and sparse and caused a lot of undue concern as we waited to hear that we would in fact be fully reimbursed. But i would use again, as it was a fairly processed claim.
Filed a claim on 8/11/23 and have yet to hear anything. Cannot find a way to talk to anyone about it. How long should I wait until I refile the claim?
